Question about 1998 Toyota Corolla
After driving with the head lights on, they do not turn off when car is shut off and beeps that the lights are on.
This could be caused by a failed switch but is more likely to be a relay that has welded its contacts. The switches generally only switch a few tenths of an amp to actuate a relay that does the 'heavy lifting.'
Hopefully, your owner's manual has a diagram of the fuse box in which one also often finds the various relays used for power switching. Sometimes the layout can be found on the inside of the fuse box cover.
You might try switching the lights off before you turn off the ignition since it is a fairly common feature to have the headlights stay on for a minute or two as a convenience for the driver.
