Re: cannot unlock the truck with the key, cylinder turns I...
Can you lock it with the key? If you can't then the arm or rod has come out of the lock mechanism. Ninty percent of all vehicles use plastic retainers to hold the rod and/or arm in place. They do wear out and break. You need to pull the interior door panel and look at the lock configuration to see if it is the rod or arm that has failed. You can get new clips from the dealer and some parts stores. If you break some of the clips that hold the door trim panel on, you can also get them new too. They are pretty standard for all ford products. Good luck, RAC

Sounds like your door lock cylinders are shot. If you remove your door card, find your lock cylinder and see if you are missing something, or something has come loose. It should turn smoothly and uninhibited.
A key step most DIY'ers forget when changing the injectors is to remove the UVC (under valve cover) oil drain plugs. These plugs drain the excess oil from the oil passage so it doesn't leak into the cylinder and cause hydro lock (clyinders full of fluid) and damage pistons/rods. To do this you remove the valve covers and then the gasket as well as the injector harnesses. The 2 drain plugs are located directly underneath the 2 wiring harnesses (front and rear). This requires an allen wrench (4.5mm I believe) and do not torq when tightning). You must remove both to allow maximum oil drainage.
Sounds like your switch is stuck far enough to keep the wheel unlocked but not far enough to lock your key in the cylinder. If it were me I would call a lock smith that can make keys from you lock cylinder as I would think your key may be worn down as keys do from time to time. Remember that yoy may have a chip in your key so after you finally get your new lock cylinder in get the truck to the dealer or lock smith, if they can program keys.
That happens to me sometimes, too. It just locked about an hour ago as a matter of fact. You're supposed to turn the wheel, I believe to the left, as you turn the key in the ignition. I don't even think about it much anymore, because it easily unlocks.
this could be the ignition clyinder but try these tips first wiggle the shifter alittle bit and try it. if this works just keep doing it. and if it dont work try to move the steering whell side to side wile trying to turn the key
1.Close the vehicle doors. 2.Turn OFF the ignition. 3.Remove the key from the ignition. 4.Press and hold the driver side door lock switch in the UNLOCK position. 5.Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and remove the key. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) 6.Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder and remove the key. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) 7.Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. (Do not turn the ignition key in the lock cylinder.) Leave the ignition key in the ignition lock cylinder. 8.Release the door lock switch. The vehicle will sound three beeps in order to verify the Program Mode has been activated. 9.Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons together on the keyless entry transmitter and hold until the vehicle beeps twice to verify that the transmitter has been successfully programmed (this take approximately 15 seconds). 10.Perform the previous step to program up to four transmitters (including your old ones). 11.Remove the ignition key in order to exit the Program Mode
