Question about Mazda 626

Cruise control problem

I have a 99 Mazda 626. Cruise control works great until I turn on my headlights. Then it wont work until I turn my car if to reset something. Then it will work fine again until I turn on headlights. Any suggestions or can you tell me the problem. BTW...the headlights and blinkers all work fine, I have no light bulbs that are blown either. Thank you...

I found the problem. It was a faulty bulb....the bulb worked, but seemed to short out the the circuit.
Replaced it and all works as it should.

Thanks for your help and suggestions

The cruise control is terminated by the brake lamp circuit, Check the brake, tail lamp for water or a short. Your turn signals are on a different circuit. Check the bulb sockets closely for corrosion. Failing this check connectors for the tail lights for possible water penetration, or loose connections.

Hope this ia of some help

Check the 20A STOP FUSE and 10A METER FUSE in the joint box but also there may be no speed sensor input that signals the cruise control to engage.

I have a 1998 mazda 626. I just had the brakes and roters replaced on the front end and now my cruise control will not even turn on. Is this problems related to the brakes or do you think it is something...

probably not. Once you find and correct the problem then you will know if it was related or not. Check the fuse and the brake switch, that's the most common things.
