Yes this sounds like a thermostat problem, replace the thermostat, Delay on transmission shift is a common problem, you could try changing transmission oil.

Transmission will not shift before 3300 rpm

I would check the shift cable at the throttle body. It may have slipped. You can adjust the shift point by using a screw driver and press on the plastic lock. Only move it a cpuple clicks at a time till you get it where you want it.....I had the same prob with a Monte Carlo....

You could have a bad valvebody in your transmission or a bad pump in your transmission or your clutches are bad. In any case you have a bad transmission. Please rate my answer.

Maybe a transmission problem?

If you're only in "D", you should switch to "OD" when driving at higher speeds. "D" only allows you to move up to third gear whereas "OD" will move you into fourth. You're over-working your transmission by driving in "D".
