Headers are intended to replace the stock exhaust manifold. The benefit to headers is the larger bore which allows the exhaust to flow more freely with less back pressure. This should result in about a 5-10 percent increase in torque and horsepower. Once you replace the headers you will need to replace the catalytic converter, exhaust pipe, muffler, and tailpipe with equal sized pipe diameters or you are just wasting your time and money. When you get through adding up the cost, and look at the small improvement in performance, you may want to consider different upgrades that would be cheaper and yield larger performance increases such as hotter cams, improved induction and ignition systems, and head modifications. If you are really ambitious, you might want to consider transplanting a small block Chevy V-8.

How do I remove the rear exhaust manifold from my exhaust pipe in my driveway? In order to do a head job on my 2002 chevy venture.

check which will be easier
trying to undo the manifold from the pipe or simply undoing the manifold from the head
either achieves the same result but one may be easier to do

2003 chevy cavalier, up around the manifold is making a loud can you help me?

check real close, it is either a cracked manifold. or the manifold gasket are bad. while running engine put hand around manifold, but do not touch it or you will get burnt. this way if it is leaking, you will feel the exhaust coming out. Hope this helps, Good-Day!

Location of spark plugs on 4.3l v-6 in a 2001 chevy blazer

Chevy usually puts the spark plugs down below the exhaust manifold.
You usually have to do them by feel, or use a mirror.

Replace 2003 Chevy S10 V6 Exhaust Manifold

On the studs on the bottom be sure to soak them with a good penitrating oil over night. Then on the removal if you feel like they are binding work them back and forth. They may break but you should get new studs with the new one. On the head side just be carefull, if you break a bolt off in the head you have real problems then. Not really complex just use your head and don't be to forcefull.
Good Luck

Where are the spark pugs located?

when you open your hood the plugs are facing the fire wall ... the pipes facing you are not the exhaust hedders they are the intake pipes from the air cleaner..

With an '84, it's likely that you can make this conversion, providing it is within your state inspection allowable mods, otherwise you can't. Most header manufacturers make a complete system front to back...follow their advertized pipe diameters if you want to make your own. When adding headers, don't expect a huge performance or mileage gain... This can be obtained by careful research and matching a total system including carb/FI, manifold and camshaft changes. In "fine tuning" and proper matching of these items, you can get the best performance possible. Aside from that, a normally aspirated smallblock chevy will usually respond best to a 1 7/8" header tube diameter W@ith a 3" or slightly larger collector, unless you are using a really radical cam and huge carb & intake.
Good luck with your project!!!
