Question about 1998 Ford Expedition
I gave a 1998 Expedition. The driver side power seat is having problems moving forward and backward. It makes a strange noise when the button is used to move the seat and will not move. In order to move it I have to push the seat from behind while someone uses the button. The same is true to move it back. I need to sell this vehicle soon and do not want to take it to the dealer as they will probably charge a bundle. I am good with my hands can handle most things. Can you tell me a good starting point to try and identify the problem and fix it.
Have the same issue with mine. My solution was to take the seat out, real easy. And clean the entire motorized system with some MAF/electronic cleaner. From time to time I still have to play with knob a couple of times. My issue is the knob not motor. Not sure what the noise is. This could be the motor. Ensure you don't have any unknown obstructions blocking the motion.
