New starter problems on a 99 suburban 1500 4wd 350 vortec

pull the starter and check the ring gear teeth for burrs and mashed teeth. Ensure that the new starter has the correct number of teeth on the pinion as required by the ring gear or you will have the wrong gear ratio for your vehicle. There are many engines that use the same starter motor but are differentiated by the number of teeth on the pinion. I suspect that will be why there is hard noise and kick back as that is the out of mesh gears trying to work

Transmission kicks hard when put in drive

The problem is the transmission I'd check the fluid levels. Shops are notorious for not filling fluids to the proper levels. If that isn't the problem which it may not be Then some1 did a very bad job on the trans. The fact that you have been having problems from day 1 is not good. Even so that could be a low fluid problem so I'd check that first. Hope this helps.

I have a 1996 z28 camaro with auto trany that kicks into gear

check your transmission fluid level. see if it's burned. you can try changing transmission fluid, but only half at a time. If you change all your fluid at once, you could blow some seals on older vehicles.

Car was low,low on fuel, put half tank in car.drove about 3miles onto 4lane and kicked it. when car tacked out in passing gear it started heasitating.eased off the accelerator and shifted fine.kicked it...

Replace the fuel filter. That should fix the problem. You can follow the fuel line back to the fuel tank to find it. It is usually in the middle of the vehicle near the edge of the vehicle, like right under the passengers or drivers door.

700 r4 shift hard

The u-joints could cause the banging when you put it in gear. You might want to check the kick down cable. If it's out of ajustment it can cause the hard shift. The transmission thinks the motor is going faster then what it is and will shift harder. Put the car up on jack stand in the rear and put the tranny in neutral.turn the drive shaft back and forth with your hand and see if you hear the clunk or bang you heard when you put it in gear. if not then I would go with the kick down cable being to tightor to short on ajustment. However you want to look at it.

If the transmission was recently changed it should be covered under some form of warranty and they should fix it for free.
