OK, he has the pump working. The engine will start and run for 2 or 3 seconds, than stops. Could it still be the ground? He is going to change the fuel filter, now. Is there anything else you can think of. When you say another brand, another brand of what?

    Thank you so much,

The ground on the fuel pump is it ok and tight and clean ? also the brand of fuel pump is it same one always used ? did you buy it at ORileys or just where ? I changed brands once and found a good pump... I bought two pumps from same store and they both were bad.. good luck .. if it doesnt start try shooting some fuel into the air cleaner and see if it starts if so the pump still not working ok..

1995 gmc 2500 suburban 454cid on hard acceleration the injectors start flowing freely then cut out completely then start again causing hard detonation and rpm not to exceed 2300. I replaced the fuel pump...

Sounds almost like a fuel pressure regulator. It is located at the begining of the fuel rails, right where the gas comes to the motor. It controls the amount of fuel going to the motor, and could cause injectors to act funny, and flood the motor during acceleration.

Good Luck and Thanks for using FixYa!!
