94 buick lesabre. 119,000 miles. happened 2 times on different occasions. only first part of day, first time started that day, at about 50 degrees. Start engine, shift into either reverse or drive, and vehicle wont move. push pedal until engine revs high and car slowly begins to move. after about 30 feet i stop, shift through all the gears and they each catch like normal, and vehicle drives fine. no hard, soft, delayed or otherwise noticeable shifting problems while driving, stopping and hand shifting to different gears, or turning on and off and repeating process. vehicle has not been abused and has been well maintained. Transmission flush was completed about 250 miles ago. Fluid levels are good and have been properly examined by following directions in manual. Thank you for your time.

You could have a shop check pump pressure - usually the cause is a weak pump or problems with the valve body.
Chances are if you just sit in drive at idle, it will also move on its own in a couple of minutes once the fluid warms up.
I never recommend changing fluid after 100k.

SOURCE: 2003 BUICK REGAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.

This is a common problem on some GM cars. There is a pressure control valve in the side cover of the transmission that needs to be replaced. The transmission does not have to be rebuilt. You will need to get a side cover gasket also.

94 buick lesabre 3800 engine, stalls after 10 mile drive and will not start till cools. replaced TPS, Fuel pumpand filter, cam sensor, crank sensor, and ignition control module.

next time it won't run after it heats up, spray or pour water in crank sensor and see if it will start. I have seen new crank sensors go bad.

check the tires for separations or bulges in the tread face also check the drive axles see if the boots are torn or missing all together, also be sure to check the ball joints and tie rod ends.

Weight oil?

I'd use 5 w 30 in cold or cool weather, then switch to 10 w 30 or, 10 w 40, when it gets hotter.
