First of all check the idle speed control because it maybe incorrect and then look at the fuel filter if it has been a while since you replaced it try some STP gas treatment with fuel injector cleaner make sure you have a half tank of gas and then add a little more and if this helps then change the fuel filter and the only other thing it could be is a vacuum leak at the intake manifold or a vacuum hose is off check them all for cracks and make sure they all are in place

Blinkers and horn went out on my 1996 town car i have no fuse box diagram and checked all fuses is it one of the relays

Check the relay box under the hood, should be in front of the master cylinder on the driver side, use a test light to find the bad one, then replace it with one of your relays just for a short test. You might also try pulling and replacing the relays from the box, as they get a little corrosion on them and just don't make good contact. If you want an owners manual, google up "Helms" they have good used manuals for sale. I pd. $29.00 + shipping for my Lincoln Mark VIII

Have your EGR valve checked. I just replaced one on a 95 towncar. It's my girl-friends car. It was $50.00 at Auto Zone. Local shops wanted $300. to replace it.

My 1995 Lincoln Town Car starts when it wants to

The next time your Town Car fails to start, Try holding the throttle open slightly and cranking the engine. If it starts and will stay running while holding the throttle, it is likely that the Idle Air Control valve will need replaced. The valve is bolted to the upper intake right behind the throttle body.

94 Lincoln TC engine stalls when slowing/stopping

Most common cause of stalling for Lincolns in that era is the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). It regulates fuel mixture, idle speed etc. A bad TPS will usually act up in one of two ways:
  1. When cold, car continually stalls
  2. When warm, car stalls when slowing down (especially if AC is on)
As far as valve cover oil leak, it's a problem that should be addressed to keep oil from fouling your spark plugs but highly unlikely to be the cause of your stalling problem. Hope this answers your question. All the best.

Starting problems

if your problem is an intermitent "no start" when it happins go to fuse relay area on the drivers side under hood and swap fuel pump relay with ac relay. you may just have a weak relay.
