1992 Toyota Cressida Alarm - son's car.

Window down, unlocked the vehicle from the inside (stuck his arm through the window) - car thinks it's being broken into and the alarm goes off. The alarm is now off - he put the key in the ignition but now it won't start. Is there a reset button?

Can you imagine that my dad's mechanic has one , and he spent 4 months in our workshop without understanding why his Cressida won't start, he literally dismantled every possible part and checked it, guess what ? 5 munites of searching online I locked, unlocked passenger door with the key and gave to him, tadaaaaa , car started like a charm

1992 toyota celica key wont turn and alarm system going off
The steering lock may be binding the ignition lock cyl preventing the key from turning or the key may be worn out. Try turning the steering wheel back and forth while wiggling and turning the ignition key. To get the alarm to turn off without starting the car try locking and unlocking the vehicle from the passenger side door. There is a micro switch on the drivers side door lock cyl that may be bad and preventing the alarm from dis arming. This is all providing it is a toyota factory alarm sys.

Did you try bending the metal arm going to the wiper blade so there is enough pressure to make the blade contact the window better. I just did one two days ago and if im reading what what you are saying right its is the same problem and it fixed it

Driver side window won't raise up!
Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To resolve the issue you are facing with push the unlock button once on the factory remote=unlock all 4 doors. Hit unlock a second time=all four windows down. When exiting vehicle hit the lock button on remote=all 4 windows all the way up. Also, all four window controls on the driver’s door panel are one touch up and down on master window switch. Remove the door panel by prying it off. But be careful not to damage the panel. Now unscrew the top of the panel and the area by the arm rest. Once you get the panel off, then you will see how the switch is mounted into the door panel from inside. If the switch has gone bad this is required to be replaced. Remove the old switch and connect the new one.

Turn on the rear window wiper . Try to get the wiper arm off the glass. There is a switch that will not let the window operate if the wiper is on the glass.
