When I start my car with the remote, the doors don't stay locked. Any ideas?

High dollar aftermarket remote start systems last about 5 years. Cheaper ones, lucky to get 2 years. They cause all kinds of problem when they get older, your's is one. Others are no start, doors lock and unlock by them selves, Car starts by itself..Tear it out. One wire at a time. Repair any wires that were cut as you go. If you don't. Someday soon your car won't even start with the key. Security..

I am building a demolition derby car and its a 1996 pontiac grand am i accidentally cut the theft system wires and cant find the other end and it wont start just rolls over and acts like it aint getting...

Without the communication between the modules, it wont start. These cars are not like the old carburetor and distributor systems. Your probably lucky it even turns over.

Wont start

Replace the fuse. If this doesn't fix the problem you may of done something to the ecu, you can unplug it for 5 minutes and plug back in to see if it works.

If this doesn't work consult a vehicle electrician for a further diagnostic

05 grand cherokee wont start .full power lights dont dim when cranking then it starts like nothings wrong. i tried jump starting it then i climbed under it and hit the starter and it started

If the starter motor spins at high speed, but doesn't turn the engine until you whack it, the starter gear is not engaging the flywheel. Probably the engagement fork or the starter gear is worn out or sticky, or the solenoid isn't pushing it far enough.

Power windows won't go down

The Grand am has the slowest moving windows. I also have a 01 GT. My windows move very slowly, the back drivers side went out at 35,950 miles but luckily, the dealer fixed it. I was lucky the warranty had almost expired. It may need a motor and even when that is replaced it will still go up and down at a snail's pace. Good Luck! Is it any wonder they discontinued the Grand Am models and replaced them with the new G6. I will never buy another Pontiac. Wait until your security lights starts to pop on and eventually your car will not start, almost everyone I know with this car has had that problem at some point.
