Question about 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan

1 Answer

I have entered the basics of the fact that my engine wont turn over. My fiance just put in a new starter and a new battery and still a click but no fire. 96 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SE 3.3 we are hoping the engine isnt seized what I am curious to know is could it be a blown fuse in the electrical system or a bad sensor in the engine?

1999 ford explorer wont start. battery is new.wont start when jumped. it tries to turn over but barely. then only hear a click. when you turn the key the dash lights and radio lights flicker on an

Sounds like starter motor given your slow to no turnover, I assume your new battery has full charge, if not, check with meter, it may be a defective battery, or another issue with connections, did you clean cable connections when you put in new battery? I assume your engine was running properly before battery change and is not partially seized due to overheating or low oil.

Good luck,

When starting my car all te lights comeon but it wont start it just clicks just by chance it wiltu over

Have your battery tested. The fact that the lights come on is not an indication of a good battery. 11 volts is enough to turn the lights on but a battery at 11 volts is actually discharged and will not turn the engine on. If the battery is in fact good after it's been tested it's possible that you may need a starter. Make sure all battery and starter connections are clean and tight. Connections full of oxidation can be cleaned with warm water and baking soda.

Santa fe 2007 wont start makes a single click noise

May be ab bad starter solenoid, or corroded/loose connection at starter, or (ground). Could also be a bad ignition switch. Start from the load; the starter. Test for 12V at starter, OK. Connect short wire from starter and touch sylenoid connection..

2004 volvo s40 deisel wont start.

connections at the starter or the starter itself. see that the engine can in fact turn over, that it has not seized. the starter has two connections, one big and one small. check that the small one is getting 12v when the key is turned to the start position. if it is, then the starter needs to be rebuilt or replaced

I have a 1994 grand am that wont start..it just clicks but starter is good and battery

If you are saying the starter clicks but the engine will not crank, and you know for a fact the starter and battery are ok, the engine may be locked up.
Can you turn the crank with a wrench on the alternator pulley ?

PUT NEW STARTER IN BUT ENGINE WONT TURN OVER

1) Low battery, not enough juice.

2) Starter housing dirty, and engine block area where it connects to. Starter gets ground off of the engine block. (Negative connection) Positive connection from battery goes to solenoid. Clean starter, and engine area where it mounts.

3) Brushes for starter are completely worn down. The click you hear/heard, is one of the last it will make before the brushes are changed.

Test the starter off of the car with jumper cables, and a small jumper wire for the solenoid. Starter works you know it isn't the problem.

06 pontiac grand prix wont start no clicking when you turn the key over even jump starting the battery, has dash lights & radio & parking lights. battery tested good. put a used starter & altinator on

Used parts such as starters and altinators don't last. It might **** but it sounds like you need to buy a new starter, altinator, and battery. Or just start with buying one at a time.

2002 jaguar x type wont start, lights, radio, air have power. clicking sound when turning the key to start the engine. Engine light stays, no engine turnover

Hi .
unlikely to be immobiliser fault ,so check basics, try a set of jump leads or check battery voltage above 12.5,if the clicking is coming from the starter motor with a fully charged battery then suspect starter motor failure.
