okay so if that dont work could it be something less major like a blown sensor or a blown electrical fuse that controls something important? bad plugs and wires? we just drove it 90 miles with ease and then went to drive it home and it started fine. Got it to the gas station about a mile away from where we were pumped some fuel and then it only clicks but no fire... is it possible it is ANYTHING BUT a blown engine?

would a diagnostics machine put on the van pull up the right code and let me know for sure? So the blown engine is the worst case scenario? bad body ground? I have two guys looking at it both with expertise and they are completely stumped!

i just rebuilt the transmission for my 1996 dodge grande caravan and after we put the battery back and pluged the whole wires .. the car was clik but no electric goes to the sprk plugs so the car is not fired and i checked the whole fuses everything appeares to be fine but i'm not sure if the relay is working or not ...

Starter will crank but the van won't start

run fault codes and check for cam/ crank position sensor problem. Check that the cam shaft is turning (broken timing belt/chain). Check that the immobiliser is working as a disconnected battery ( starter replacement) will corrupt the CPU including the alarm systems . Use a code reader to reset the CPU.

96 dodge caravan replaced starter turn key nothing

Is the van in neutral or park? How about the battery cable, did you put it back on? Is it clean? How about the battery terminals,? Clean? Anti-theft device? Just because your starter is new , doesn't mean it is good. If you can't get it to turn over the motor, take it back. Hope this helps.

Van starts when it wants to

Your Starter could need to be rebuilt/replaced. Possibly the Power Wire running from the Battery to the Starter could be degrading(would need to be cleaned or replaced) if your starter has never been replaced or rebuilt in the car I would think that would be the main concern but check the BIG red wire running from the batter + terminal to the Starter(usually on the bottom of the car) and see if you can clean it with some Brake Clean(not harmful; No Acids) if it still has problems have yoru starter checked or replaced.

I need picture (top view) of a trans for a 1996 Dodge caravan fwd

sounds like the front seal of the transmission is bad.  This is were the torque converter flange goes into the transmission.  May be time for a reseal job or a rebuilt transmission.
