Boat outboard outdrive power lift only goes 1/3 way up then stops

Just breaking out of winter storage and my I/O outdriver will only go up 1/3 of the way and then the motor clicks off automatically - it will go back down and then back up but continues to only raise several inches. I tried to manully assist but the motor still stops Th usual operation is the motor will continue to run even after thr outdrive is all the way up or down. My Boat is a 1999 Lund with the Mercruiser 4.3 Liter V6

There is a 'trailer' or some such labeled switch (usually on the side of the throttle) which you need to push in order for the motor to go all the way up. It stops at 1/3 because it thinks it's in the water. If you push that switch with no better result, then a related wire may be broken or disconnected.

It sounds like the limit switch thinks the outdrive is all the way up or that it is in gear.

Sounds like the trailer switch is not functioning properly. It may need to be replaced but the wiring should be checked first to make sure it is not damaged or cut somewhere.

Which is the best storage for my boat?

The best storage will be that which has a feature like following:
1. Camera Surveillance
2. Friendly Management Team
3. 24/7 Gate Access
4. Easy Exit & Entrance
5. Easy Outdoor Parking Spaces
The best, in my opinion, is boat storage as here it has all the features of safe and secured storage. If you want you can contact them for the best service experience.

My 351 Ford has a Holley carb. When engine was run before winter storage it ran perfect. Now I can't get the idle below 1200RPM. This engine is in a boat

overhaul the carby as it is possible that the acccelerator pump diaphragm has a hole it it allowing extra fuel which is causing the high rpms

What is this and what kind of motor goes on it?

it looks to be a boat and from the poor quality photo it appears to gave a prop under it
in which case it will have an inboard n motor fitted with a drive shaft connected to the fly wheel or harmonic balancer end
from the view of the cut down transom it may take an out board as well
talk with a boat shop to get it right

I need an alternator belt for a 1994 Chris Kraft Concept boat. What belt do I need?

The size of the belt is on the side of the old belt. Hopefully you still have it. If not contact your local outboard watercraft dealer for the replacement.

take it back to dealer if it is almost new. They should fix for free. If they say warranty is up check out how you paid for it, our visa gives and extended warranty on everything we buy. Company gives 1 year visa gives another etc.

This site used to have a Boat section which would have more interested parties than Cars and Parts do. I would relist to proper area. The Marine parts area is one I happened to get involved with through rebuilding my salvaged Bayliner. You need someone to be a Research Librarian to find your parts. Try using the Brand and if you can find it, then go to specifics.

I would look at the tiny ads in Boating magazines and Boating Trader type papers. When looking for my Volvo outdrive components, I discovered that speculators buy pallets of old stock from Marinas going out of business. They then list some parts on Amazon or Ebay. Unfortunately some throw away cheaper parts that you may need but are not worth it to them to list.

I live in Michigan and had found my parts in Florida and California as well as Kentucky and Tennessee. You will find that some brands are not popular in some states and the makers never had a Dealership in certain states.

I worst situation comes up, there are Boat junk yards similar to car junk yards.

Chriscraft w/ Mercruiser I/O wont raise completely

there is an up and down button and then a seperate trailer button to raise it further. it uses the same system to continue to raise it so you may have an issue with the trailer button.

Vibrations after propeller strike ???

chances are the prop has an unbalance condition...You can also check it for excessive runnout by simply referencing it against something and turning it. all blades should remain at the same distance from reference point as you turn it. You can do this to check the shaft as well.

Outboard problem

Check your prop...probably slightly bent and only is noticeable at higher rpms.

these are totally separate circuits and therefore 2 different issues and unrelated, most likely u will need a window lift motor to fix the rear window issue, as far as the rear wiper goes a common issue is the wiring breaking from years of opening and closing the lift gate, the rear wiper most likely isn't getting any power as a result of this wiring damage.
