5he coils are firing properly. i found the problem to be wiring to the injectors. the harness is shorted causing that injector to stay open longer causing the very rich condition on that cylinder. i have been a mester auto tech since 1988 and am currently working on vehicles for a living. jumping to the gun and claining the coils are the problem is not a proper diagnosis on the 2.2 ltr engine.

If you have only one cylinder getting that excessive fuel it indicates that the computer thinks that that cylinder is not sparking and thinks no fuel is the proble. this is due to a timing issue. even though you replace the injector which was most likely not the problem to begin with. in order to get spark the coil has to energize you more than likely have a bad coil pack.replace the coil and your miss will no longer exist.

Code 300 is a generic code for a random miss, no specific cylinder.
Code 301 would be for cylinder one, 302 is cylinder two, and so on.
Four digit codes are brand specific, and I don't find anything for GM but that's not to say the code is not used for GM cars. If it is a fuel trim problem, it could be caused by the miss.
There is a good chance the main problem is one of the injectors rather than ignition.

did you try a different spark plug wire on cylinder 8? if cylinder 8 has good compression i would guess either plug, wire, or injector. another possibility could be no injector pulse on the injector plug in.

I got a 1991 chev lumina 3.8 car i have a miss in it that i cant find u can start it up dont miss drive it five six miles clear up dont miss a lick then it start missing cut off a little while start it up...

You could have a bad injector, ohm the resistance of each one. they should all match. I am thinking maybe 14 ohms but could be wrong, check specs for your car. you need to at least narrow down which cylinder then check for spark on that cylinder while the miss is happening. some of these 3.8 engines would melt the plastic intake manifold at the egr passage and leak coolant into the cylinders, are you losing coolant?

Is this a 4.9L engine? An inline 6? My database doesn't show a 4.9L in that model year. It does show that engine in 95.
Did you visually check for spark at number 4 cylinder?
For 95-- 4.9L--fuel pressure--50--60 psi. Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, see if fuel pressure will hold for a bit with everything off.
Fuel--spark--compression. Some ford makes and models, ford can disable the fuel injector, if misfire is detected. I only mention this because, swapping injectors may not be conclusive? You can check for fuel injector pulse, anyway.
How long since over-all tune-up? You did get a new fuel filter, if inline filter, correct?

Hi, the 4.3 liters have an injection system on them that can leak and will show up as a misfire. it is common but elusive to find. you might consider taking the van to a repair shop to have the problem diagnosed and go on from there.

On a 1998 dodge stratus 2.4 ltr engine misfire

check compression, with engine running remove h/t leads 1 at a time to diagnose weak cylinder, check that cylinder has the same amount of spark ( jumps the same gap as others )try changing the plug from crook cylinder to a good one and note if miss follows that spark plug or stays with same cylinder, can do same with injectors but only perform one procedure at a time so you can determine which one works.

Check the DIS module or injectors. Check to make sure you have a spark on each cylinder. One cylinder could be misfiring
