Volkswagen Fox Fuel Pumps are located inside your gas tank; being as liquid gasoline is not combustible, this is the best position for installation. Your car's Volkswagen Fox Fuel Pump is an apparatus that operates to move fuel out of the tank to the motor. Does running the radio in my 1987 Volkswagen Fox GL while the engine is not running damage the points and coil?

No, the radio should only be wired through your battery, and a relay. In 87, Volkswagen in my opinion had the best cars. VW from 83-89 was my favorite years especailly the GTI's. Good luck.

No power to fuel pump or to pump fuse at fuse block

You can get wiring diagrams from autozone.com -- they have parts of repair manuals online. I have the smae problem but the person I got my 88 fox gl from wired up a switch going to the fuel pump that you have to leave on while driving. I"m probably giong to fix this soon. It looks like the wire powering the fuel pump relay comes from the ignition switch. So if the pump side of the relay is good, but aren't getting power, you may want to see if your ignition switch isn't providing power on one wire, going to the fuel pump relay.
