Automatic slding door, where is motor?

The automatic sliding door on the passenger side stopped working. We can open and close it manually but won't work with remote or buttons in van. Where is the motor located? What else could it be?

Passenger sliding door will not work automatic

Automatic sliding doors use optical or motion detection sensors to activate their motorized opening and closing functions. These sensors are mounted over the automatic door. The sensors use either infrared or microwave technology to observe motion.------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rear passenger door will only open a few inches. Have to manually finish opening and closing.

I'd bet the motor burnt out. If you pull the handle and it opens a few inches, and makes a soun like the door is locked, you might have to get the motor replaced. You probably bought it defective. My 2005 Honda odessy has that same problem from wear and tear.

When the overhead open switch is pressed, the passenger side rear door opens about 2 inches and stops. After opening manually it will not close with switch. When manually closed, will draw in last inch and...

It sounds like there are 2 motors involved, one that latches and unlatches the door, and a second that moves it out of the way or brings it back.

The one is working, the other is not.

First, look for a blown fuse.

Disconnect that 2nd motor (if you can find the connector), and use a volt meter to see if power is getting to the motor and the motor does not work, or the power is not getting there.

Sliding door fails to latch

There is no "switch". The Sliding Doors should be manual anytime you try to open or close them. If not: then there is problem in the electronic system or the physical/mechanical side where something is jamming the door from opening or closing.

We have the same problem, just opposite doors - the passenger slider will close to 80%, but the driver still functions fine. There must be an easier solution than new wiring harness/motor??

2008 Dodge Grand Caravan side door does not automatically close.

sounds like the door sensor switch is malfunctioning and when almost closed it reacts like it is blocked (such and kid in way) and opens for safety. try flushing trach with hose and try again, if not u need a good repair manual such as chiltons($25 most parts stores ) or see mechanic

Passenger sliding door motor won't close door all the way.

I just fixed my 2005 T&C sliding door. The wire in the plastic rolling chain is broken when resides right under the step pad. It took me 30 minutes to fix.
