Replace rear drums 1990 ford ranger

Remove rear wheels and then remove rear drums. You might have to pound on the drums with a hammer to break them loose fromthe axle shaft. Pound in between the lug nuts to loosen the drums. Inspect brake lining for wear, replace as necessary and then install new drums.

I need a free schematic of the rear brake assembly on a 2004 Ford Ranger. I fixed the brake cylendar but can't remember where one part goes

that is why you never remove both sides at the same time, that way if you forget something you can go look at the other side.

How can i tell if my rear brake shoes are 9in. or 10in.?

You will have to remove the rear brake drum and measure the diameter with a ruler, once you remove the rear tire, the drum should be a little difficult to pull off but will come off so you can make this measurement. Both rear drums will be the same size.

Brakes seized on ford ranger

A drum brake shoe lining may have become separated from the metal pad that holds it in place and will cause the wheel to lock. The only repair necessary is to replace the brake linings with new ones. The loose piece of brake lining, if this is the cause, will not likely cause any difficulty removing the drum.

Brake drum

2004 ranger has 2 different size drums 9" and 10" (the difference is actually less than an inch). It sounds as if you've got the wrong drums.

Rear drum removal 2004 ford focus drums

the rear drums on a focus are a pain to do,you have to remove the four bolts behind it and the drum will come off with a few taps of a hammer, the trouble is the bolts are hard to get to,you will need a 13mm socket and lots of extension bars. Be careful not to damage the brake pipes because they are very close to the bolts.good luck.
