Hi! there,
it good things if you have a trusted maintainer of your mercedes, there should be a proper schedule of maintenance for 5 month such as checking level of oil on gauge, tire pressure, brake pressure, and mostly engine performance, start run engine twice a week to activate oil cycling system and ignition system, battery corrosion as well as the cable, moisture, corrosion and dust are developing on stagnant parts of car, moisture mostly develop on circuit board, penetrating micro leads and chips,if heat is flowing on every system moisture are penetrated, have a weekly cleaning of air filter, and dash board front seat, backseat, vacuum all inside carpet, car wash out side and have it wipe dry , brush the tire so it make your car condition at all time.be sur to make schedule on it
have a nice day, don't forget to rate me.

If you had the choice and are sure that the maintainer will last till you're back, then I would recommend the maintainer as it would be a hasle to reprogram all your settings if you disconnect your battery.
Cheers.

I stored my mercedes for 4 week and the battery is dead it is normal

Yes, it is totally normal for your Mercedes battery to go dead after 4 weeks of non use due to the onboard computers that drain on the battery. I store my Mercedes for up to 5-6 months at a time. The solution is to install a battery tender that plugs into a power outlet in your garage and this will maintain proper charge in the battery and then will shut itself off until the voltage drops below the threshold again , then will kick on and bring the battery up to full charge. Any auto parts store, ie. Napa, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc. carries them. Cost is approx. $35-$45 and take the average person 1/2 hour to install.

I have a 2000 mercedes benz e320 and its been sitting in my garage for about 10 years now and im planning on registering it and driving it as my everyday commute vehicle..i put gas in it the other day and...

Replace all fluids, replace belts and hoses. Check brakes for proper operation, get tires checked and replaced as needed. Replace wiper blades. Sitting unused is the worst thing for any vehicle. Check all lights for proper operation as well.

In my 03 mercedes e320 wagon the sunroof opens only half way when auto open is used. Is this normal?

No. Push the open switch until glass is fully open....continue to hold switch for 5 seconds to allow motor to memorize open position...ditto closing.

This also applies to your side windows. Any time battery disconnected or voltage drops below 10.5 volts all convenience memories need resetting like this.

Hold window switch down fully for 5 seconds after glass has gone fully down. .....release switch

Repeat for other windows. Switch must be in second detent position when doing this.

NEVER boost charge this vehicles battery in the car unless GROUND connector disconnected from battery...serious electrical damage can occur if this is not done.

You can do this yourself. Look under passenger side rear seat. This battery is vented outside with a air tube. Make sure to disconnect and reconnect..
