Replacing transmission cooler line on 1999 ford windstar

Not everyone may agree with my answer but I have a 1999 Ford product and tried a Salvage yard for a similar part. I found the interaction of different metals happens where the cooler line goes into the transmission case. The line, line fitting, and trans case are different metals and tend to corrode together and resist removal and snap because the fittings will not turn around the line. (May be worse from road salt)

Another issue is the replacement part. A new line is desirable because a used part may contain contaminants. Someone using a hoist may have better access to the fittings and be able to apply solvent to aid in removal. You do not want to mess up the trans case.

2001 ford ranger 3.0 auto trans swap out with a 2002 auto trans

On Chevy transmissions there is, on the input shaft, there are two (2) little tabs at the 12 and 6 O'clock position or 180 degrees from one another. When installing the transmission these can often break leaving the transmission useless. It will need to be taken apart and checked on. If it is broken then you can easily replace it from a junkyard trans. (just look forward to a day in the yard tearing apart a transmission) and replace it accordingly.
Keep in mind when reinstaling the replaced transmission, that you HAVE to line these up by spinning the Torque Converter untill it slips on easily. otherwise it will just break again.

Replace motor mounts

You need to replace the Motor Mounts? These are very straight forward...

Buy the 3 Mounts (might as well do the Trans mount while you are doing them all... You will notice a difference Immediately

Use a floor Jack, take weight slightly off the mount, remove the center bolt on the FORWARD one, then remove the 3 mount Bolts that hold it to the Frame, and reassemble.

Do the Top Mount by the Camshaft the same way

Transmission mount is a little harder but you have to get under the car to do this one... Still need the Floor Jack

But they are pretty straight forward, nothing Fancy to get it done...

Estimated time to do ALL 3..... 50-75 minutes....

Can i use a different transmission from a different model to put in my 99 pathfinder

You have yours rebuilt

You never install a used unit, may be worst
than yours

Can't use any trans, but same make, model you have

There may be a couple of years that are the same
or the valve body can be swapped between similar units

Help, 1999 Hyundai Transmission doesn't engage in forward gears. Reverse is fine. It initially only had a problem when cold, now it jerks to get into gear and never fully engages. I removed what I could of...

the transmission forward band is slipping flushing or replacing fluid will not help you will have to overhaul or replace transmission the reason problem got worse after fluid replacement is that the dirty fluid actually helps to seal minor spaces in clutches and bands when new fluid circulates through passages it will pick up deposits and remove dirt sealing clutches and bands most trans shops dont reccomend replacing trans fluid on vehicles over 120,000miles or 180,000kms that haven had regular trans fluid maitenance for that exact reason

I got a ford 98 ford windstar, yet i got a transmission problem, since this transmission is not available in most of the wrecking yards i am wondering if i can replace ford windstar by Ford Turas/sable...

Never install a used trans from any salvage yard. Having been in the trans business, you only buy the trans or core to rebuild. Their someone elses worn out unit, most likely worse than yours.
Repair or rebuild yours, the only option,if you want reliability, long term.
I don't believe you have a ford unit, most likely the engine and trans is a mazda or some foreign piece,so no on the taurus trans.

Driving a 2003 Ford windstar. Went to pass and

Very common on this make and model trans, pump drive splines inside torque converter strip out and pump is not turning, Most times there is no damage to pump shaft. Remove trans and remove torque converter, inspect the splines at the very bottom of the hub hole. If stripped out inspected pump shaft splines which are the smaller center splines coming out of trans, if ok replace torque converter and re-install trans, change out fluid, clean any metal from magnet and replace filter, fill with fluid and verify proper operation.
