SOURCE: how to remove spark plug wires from the

Please don't forget to rate!

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Label and disconnect the wires from each spark plug one at a time.
  3. Remove the spark plug wires from the distributor cap. On some models you may need to use a flat bladed tool to lift up the lock claw and disconnect the holder from the cap. Separate the wires at the grommet.

SOURCE: 94 toyota camery no spark

I had the same problem recently but replacing the ignition Coil under the distributor (inside) solved the problem. Also replaced the distributor Cap and rotor at the same time.

SOURCE: 1994 Toyota Camry Won't start.

you should check 3 things. AIr, Fuel, and "spark"
your cars could have many problems. Ignition module, fuel injectors, Mass Airflow Sensor.
You should check into all of these 3 things.
a crank-no start could be many things.
it could even be a cam positions sensors resistance going up when the engine heats up. Cracnk- no start means testing. n like i said
The motor is getting Air, There is Fuel being put into the cylinders, and the Spark plugs are firing.

I do have a 1993 Camry 300sei (v6) Is the 1994 model the same?

This engine will probably have a cast iron block, painted black. Depending on which country you are in, some year from 1994 on Toyota changed the V6 to a design with an aluminium block, the 1MZ engine. So have a look to see what the engine block is made of.

I cannot find the spark plugs on my camry !!!

First, you didn't mention which engine your 1994 Toyota Camry is equipped with. (This is really MUST-KNOW information if you want help with fixing your car.) There is a 3.0L V-6 engine and a 2.2L 4-Cylinder engine. Two TOTALLY different animals! I'll just take the extra time to answer for BOTH of them....

If your Camry is equipped with a 3.0L V-6 engine, You cannot find the spark plug wires because there are none, That engine is equipped with Coil On Plug (COP) ignition. The coils on the left bank (the side of the engine near the radiator) are located under the plastic cover on top of the engine. The coils for the right bank (the side of the engine near the firewall) are located under the upper intake plenum. The plenum MUST be removed to access them. (this is also required to replace the spark plugs.)

If you have the 2.2L 4-cylinder engine, the wires run down the center of the valve cover and the boots go down through the valve cover to the plugs. The other end of the wires attach to the distributor cap at the rear (drivers side) of the engine.

ENGINE TURNS OVER BUT WILL NOT START WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE

Is there a check engine light?

Sensors. Use a code reader of a jumper to read codes from your check engine light. Here's some help.
http://www.2carpros.com/kpages/first_things.htm

No check engine light.

Fuel pump or fuel filter. Try to start it, then pull a spark plug and see if you have gas on the plug or just the smell of gas. If you do it probably OK. If you don't, a new fuel filter, then a pump.

Ignition coil, Igniter or Distributor. Pull a spark plug and plug it back into it's spark plug wire. Turn over the motor and see if there's spark. You might need a helper or do it at night. There should be a small blue spark in the spark plug gap. Don't touch it. No spark...bad.
A lot of Toyotas use the same igniter so they are cheap at the junk yard and easy to fix.
Some distributors have the coil in them, some are do not. Check the external coil for spark. If there is none replace it. There are tests that can be made, but you need a book for that. A 1994 Camry probably has miles on it ,so anything you replace is good for an old car. Just don't buy from the dealer. You can get deals on line or at a junk yard.

My 1994 toyota camry ,just quit running,it won't start,it will crank ,getting fuel, timing belt is moving what could be the problem

The coil pack may be bad, it will turn over and get fuel, but if the coil don't send spark to the plugs, it will not start. These can be checked by a local parts store and easily replaced by you. Or if you want, you can check to see if you're getting spark. It's not the best way to check but it works. Take one of the plug wires off the plug. Insert a sizable screwdriver in the wire, hold the screwdriver about 1/4" from a metal ground surface while someone turns the engine over. If you see spark, then the coil is good, and the problem lies somewhere else such as the distributor. If no spark the coil most likely is the problem.

I can not get my car to start

Most common,if you gave a distributor, is the ignition coil. The meter readings will be normal but the have a habit of getting small cracks in them that short to ground.
