Question about 1994 Pontiac Grand Am

Open Question

No power on electric door locks and interior lights until key is put to accessory mode

The problem appeared recently after I replaced the battery. When I don't use my car for like 1 or 2 days, I can't use the remote to open my doors, so I use my key to manually open it, just to notice that no interior lights are working. When I put the key to accessory, the dash lights up as usual, and all interior lights suddenly goes on, and electrical lock works again. The clock on my radio always reset too, as if the car cuts all power after some times, but all keeps working fine even after I remove the key.

This warning indicator is controlled by the BCM - body control module . You cant turn it off , you need to fix the faulty input switch that signals the BCM that the door is open .

My Buick 2004 rendevous,my door ajar light stays on and it dings, and the locks, lock and unlock a the while when driving

Probably the switch input to the BCM is bad . door ajar switch .
The BCM is also capable of commanding other vehicle systems to control functions that are not directly wired to and/or controlled by the BCM. The BCM accomplishes this task by sending specific messages on the class 2 serial data link. The vehicle system capable of performing such function will respond to the BCM message.
The BCM controls/monitors the following functions:
• Audible warnings
• Indicators control
• Interior lighting
• Exterior lighting
• Power/automatic door locks
• Keyless entry
• Content theft deterrent
• Personalization
• Serial Power Modes
• Electrical Power Management

Audible Warning
The body control module (BCM) provides the following audible control functions. Some audible control functions may be controlled by other systems through the class 2 serial data link:
• Headlamp on reminder
• Key in ignition reminder
• Personalization mode
• Delay locking indication
• Keyless entry programming/diagnostic mode indication

Indicator Control
The body control module (BCM) provides the following indicator control functions through the class 2 serial data circuits. Some indicator control functions may be controlled by other systems through the class 2 serial data link:
• Door ajar
• Liftglass/endgate ajar
• Park brake
• High beam
• Park lamp malfunction
• Service vehicle soon
• Personalization mode
• Security LED
• Battery

Battery is DEAD on 2003 Ford Escape! Door key (using an actual key) unlock is also motorized, which needs battery juice. I can't get into this car! I thought about putting jumper cables on the sta

Open the door manually with the key!

Many Ford Escapes have power door locks as standard equipment. This system consists of a lock switch, lock actuator and wiring harness. When you depress the lock switch, it sends an electronic signal through the harness to the actuator. The actuator moves an internal piston that either pulls the actuator hook down or pushes it up. The actuator hook connects to the lock rod, which either locks or unlocks the door, depending on which way you push the lock button. While this system won't work with a dead battery, the mechanical lock system remains unaffected by electrical power loss.

Insert the door lock key into the driver's door lock.
Turn the key counterclockwise one quarter turn.
Pull the door handle up until the Escape's door opens. Once the driver door is open, simply open the remaining doors by pulling the interior door handles until the doors open.

Sounds like a loose connection , probably a ground connection . Looking at a wiring diagram to see if these system share a common ground point . If they don't ,testing the electrical circuit's for these systems would need to be do to find the problem .Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html
Enter the vehicle info . year , make , model and engine size . Under system click on lighting then under subsystem click interior light . Alarm / electrical issues for 1998 Cabrio

Sounds like 2 problems. One a low battery. When you used the laptop you might have drained the battery of the vehicle. The alarm sounds like broken wires in door harnesses between the doors and frame. Remove the rubber seal beween the door and body of the car and look for cracked and broken wires. If they are broken or touching it can cause many wierd problems. Once you locate it which is easy you can show a certified mechanic and he or she can repair or replace the harness.
