Question about 2003 Chevrolet Malibu
The resistor is located under the passenger side of the dash. you will have to remove the panel under the glove box. it should have 3 7mm screws holding it in. once removed, look at where the carpet comes up to the dash near the firewall. you will see a wire harness with i believe 7 wires in it plugged into the resistor and a 2 wire harness coming from the resistor to the blower motor. unplug both harnesses. the screws holding the resistor in are 5.5mm screws. there are 3 of them. the one in front will be easy to remove. the other 2 usually are tough to get to. i use a 5.5mm swivel socket for them. look at the new part to get an idea of where the screws are exactly. i don't think you have to completely remove the back 2 screws, just loosen them. the holes should be open slots. good luck.
