I have the solution for this problem for this solution it says off but you neeed the radio code and the vin# of the car it came from once that you get this the radio will say off normal keep key on acc with radio on for 3 hours and enter proper code and radio should come on and work fine.

If you enter the wrong code 3 times, the radio shows OFF. You might have to disconnect the radio (or the car battery) and then try the correct code.

Disconnecting won't work. As McShane said, you need to leave the car on and the radio on for 2-3 hours and the radio will go back to displaying CODE

2000 Mitsubishi Mirage--Changed battery, code displayed on car radio screen; played with entering numbers, pushed the audio button, now OFF is displayed. What to do?

If you entered the incorrect code several times you may have ruined your chances of getting radio to work. On vehicles with anti theft radio when the battery is disconnected or the vehicle looses power the radio licks and to enable it a code is needed. The dealer may be able to help you but they would need certain information. Sometimes the vin of the car or some times the radio has to be removed to get the serial number. But if the wrong code is entered after so many attempts the radio becomes completely disable. To the point where you will not be prompted to enter a code.

I disconneted my baterry after installing a mass flow meter now my radio want come on and it said code at first but now after just punching some random # it now it saids off how can i get my radio back on.

It's a radio security feature. When you disconnected the battery, it was just like you removed the radio. Your radio won't work in any other Volvo, to prevent it from being stolen and used in another car. You need to take it to the Volvo dealer to unlock the radio.

Code radio

In the owners maunel you should have a card with the radio code on it.

The radio will only display EEE or OFF when the wrong code has been entered and the radio is locked depending on model - this is due to the battery being disconnected and the incorrect radio code being entered 3 times. You will neet to reset the radio. To do this the radio has to be on for either 2 or 4 hours - see the manual for your model. If you got the code from a card from Volvo, and it didn't work, then the radio has been changed or it has been reset by the dealer and your current code is invalid. You will have to pull the radio and find the serial & model number, and get Volvo to look up the code for that radio or the dealer may be able to lookup the radio code via vin# from Volvo. The dealer can reset the radio and enter a new code. When the radio is "ready" to accept an unlock code the display will say "codE". You will need this code if your battery is ever disconnected.

I have a 1994 volvo 850 GLT. Radio reset code

You will need to turn the ignition to the number 1 position and turn the radio on. It can take several hours, but the word code should come back on. When that happens, you will need to put the correct code in. If you don't have it, a Volvo dealer can give you the correct code from your VIN.

I have a 1998 volvo S70 and the radio wont reset, I left the battery disconnected for over 3 hours and it still says off, how do I reset it to put in my code?

You need to leave the key in the ignition in position I (accessory) for two hours, after that it will say code and you can input the code. The radio switches to "OFF" after three failed attempts with the wrong code. If you dont have the code call the dealership with your VIN and they can give it to you.

I won a 1997 volvo 850 and i just got it from

You can get the code from the dealer with the VIN# and you have to pull the radio out to get the radio's serial number. If you've tried too many wrong codes the screen will show error message. If so - disconect the battery for about 60 minutes to clear error message then reconnect and enter correct code

call your local volvo dealer and tell them your battery went dead and that you need radio code. they will ask you for car VIN...dont go that route, pull out radio and give them the numbers on the sticker ontop of radio. and make sure you keep the code written down. Good luck.
