1 Answer

1989 ford aerostar will not start when engine is warm.

Engine will cut off/turn off while running when it gets warm and after it cools down it will start.
If temp is > 70 degees the van will not start.

Have replaced TFI module , Engine Collent Sensor, And Air Temp Sensor. New Plugs, Dist Cap and Rotor. GOOD spark at the coil and distributor. Fuel pump pressure >35 lbs???

AM temp 55 car started but stalled out after starting. Attempted to restart and did not hear fuel pump. Tried again and then fuel pump kicked in. Checking fuel pump inertial switch and fuel pump electrical supply.

1995 Aerostar engine runs hot when stopped . when ac is running it goes the temp. goes up when off the temp goes down normal

I would start by checking to see if the fan is running. With the AC on, the fan should come on automatically. Could be a bad relay, bad fan motor, blown fuse, etc.
Should also check the belts and cooling system.

have you had the throttle cleaned? Sounds like your fuel pump may be getting hot and cutting out. Its possible it could be a faulty ignition module, but that usually just causes a no start not a suptter and stall.

93 aerostar van wont start

HI, NOT ENOUGH INFO. BUT I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS LONG ENOUGH THAT I HAVE AN ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM FROM WHAT YOU ARE EXPLAINING IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR FUEL CUT-OFF SWITCH IS TRIPPED LOOK UNDER THE PASSANGER SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD ON THE UPPER SIDE OF THE PANEL THEIR IS A SWITCH THEIR WITH A RED BUTTON CHECK AND SEE IF IT IS IN THE UP POSITION IF IT IS PRESS DOWN TO TURN IT OFF IF IT IS ALREADY DOWN THEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM ELSE WHERE THIS DEVICE IS THEIR IN THE EVENT OF A WRECK OR ROLL OVER SO THAT FUEL IS CUT OFF TO THE ENGINE TO REDUCE THE RISK OFF FIRE, SOMETIMES THIS WILL GO OFF OVER A HARD BUMP OR IF ITS GOING BAD YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT TO CAUSE THIS CONDITION AFTER CHECKING THE BUTTON THEN TRY AND START THE VAN..

1989 ford f150 w/ 5.0 liter..... engine light on

I would check the oil pressure of the engine. The reason is the timing chain tensioners are run with oil pressrue. I think your timing chain tensioners are leaking down when engine is getting to operating tempature . The oil is thinning down as warms up , as it should to lubercate . I would check compression and do a cylinder leak down test on all the cylinders. Then if the compression is good and the cylinder leak down is good. I would change all the timing components, ( chain, timing gears, timing chain tensioners )

Good Luck , I hope this helps.

1995 Ford Aerostar will crank and start but shuts off

Have you performed the "key on engine off" test? Make sure that you hook up the reader and turn the ignition to the on position but do not start. Next, turn the code reader on. You should then hear the sensors and switches on engine click. If you do not hear the clicking (if you do and still no codes) then there is a connection problem with computer.
