The best way to do it is take the center console out and the seats so you can properly weld in new floors .. unless your going to just put some tin over them if your going to do this you dont have to remove the console just the seats so you can get the carpet up to place the tin in place..

Oh I see is there an ashtray on the rear ? if so take it out there are screws in there, remove them . then take the console lid open and take out the screws holding the box in place out and find more screws to take out .. and if there is a shifter plate take it out with screws and you will find more underneath that removes the console .The rest should be easy look for screws in front near the carpet or under dash .. thanks Jerry sorry for the mix up on my part.

Drivers carpet getting wet in rain windscreen checked ok not leaking through door! MAYBE FIREWALL

maybe the firewall, but number one reason is a rust hole in the floor or a floor drain plug that has come out. Lift the carpet and under padding a check.

Could also be the heater core, but that would wet the floor all the time.

How do i locate the condensate drain in my mits galant 2000

For a 2000, it's more likely is that there's rust in the floor under the carpet. There are several drain plugs (approx. 30mm, actually filling manufacturing alignment holes) that often rust out. Fixing it requires that the seat be removed, the carpets lifted up and the rust cleaned / treated. New drain plugs can be made with some 20g steel sheet. They are usually pressed in, but can be glued with automotive gunk adhesive and sealed underside with stone guard spray. If there is real rust in the floor panel, cut out and reweld is required.

Manual floor shifter fell about 6 inches,91 capri

You need to take out the center plastic console around the shifter. With the shifter raised up into its correct position, drill a hole through the metal near the shfiter, and continue the hole through the shifter housing. Screw a sheet metail screw through the hole to hole the shifter into position. Do this in several places, and the screws should be a permanent fix. Good luck...Chris

Need to replace downstream o@ sensor and need to remove armrest to get to wiring harness. How do I remove armrest?

If your removing your armrest i believe your going the wrong way to change the sensor.
Do not try to take sensor off kat before the otherside of wire has been disconnected first. Follow the sensor wire from the Kat sensor your changing. This guides through car under body"s rubber plug ring you can use a screwdriver to help you push gently the edges around the ring so the ring has gone though the hole and under your carpet and easier to trace the wire quickly after carpet has been pulled back..
Sit in passengerside, put your feet together with your legs out as far as you can and slide seat all the way back.
Your feet should up under the glove box. On the leftside of your left foot pull the floor carpet slowly back your target is as far forward where the carpet rolls up under dash but to the left center of car consol.
Don"t worry you can slide the carpet back up under the center sides of consol.
There is a carpet hold down plug, they turn like a screw and you can pull more capet back if you need. So a slight turn of the screwdriver will come handy there also. Once you have the carpet back you should see your wire and your rubber ring plug it will go upto a plug mounted connector. here is a clip holding the plug in.Carefully and gently raise the clip and side the plug end off the mounted connector. Now you can easily remove the old sensor from the exhaust and pull the sensor wire completely through floor.
Reverse the instructions to install new sensor beginning with install the sensor to kat first so you prevent twisting your wire around as you tighten new sensor on the kat.Good luck and it is safe to have a ohm check on the number one injector (not the wire connector to the injector but the injector itself ) as well as the other three all should read close to the same reading none should peak to high or read to low while comparing one injector to the other.Plays a role of slow damage to o2 sensor. 11_21_2011_3_54_05_pm.jpg

Water in driver and passenger floor. I think it happens when it rains. My dads car.

remove the carpet at the front and check the body seams of rust. If there is rust follow them all the way up to the firewall and seal them using urathan. It may not fix all the leak. The only way to be sure is to remove the dash and reseal all the seams

Replacement of fuel pump on 91 firebird

i suppose this would work but then u would have water and debris blowing in and it would rust out. i would rather put 3/4 copper pipe into gas opening and slide rubber line through pipe past flap into gas tank and siphon gas into buckets and lift car on jacks and get a buddy to help lower tank or use floor jack and block of wood to lower tank and not destroy floor and create new problems

Ihave a 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited and under passenger side floormat it keeps getting wet,and there is a whole bunch of silicon beeds on floor any one else having this problem,if so can you help or let...

I have the same problem with an 08 Rubicon, but on the driver's side. The appearent issue is a gap or seperation at the top of the firewall. The water leaks down the inside of the firewall, saturating the padding under the carpet. Typically the top of the floor map remains dry and the Jeep smells musty. IMHO, this will eventually lead to a rust out of the floorboards.

As for solution, my first line of defense was to return it to the dealer who put some sealent over the seperation. Two months later (I am taking it back in tomorrow) its leaking again. Either they didnt get the gap completely covered (its been a dry summer) or the sealent failed.

My second line of defense is to remove all the carpet from the inside of the jeep and Herculine the entire tub.

Hope this helps!
