Question about 2006 Chevrolet Malibu
Hello, I just got a 2006 chevy malibu LT and I'm curious as to where you go about servicing for transmission fluid? can't find it anywhere and my dad's a mechanic.. albeit with little chevy experience. Thank you.
In order to change the fluid it's best to take it to a quick lube place like pep boys or grease monkey. you can drop the transmission pan and change the filter and replace the fluid that is lost, however there will still be old fluid left in the torque converter. now if you have a manual transmission it is a sealed unit and has not torque convertter or a filter but has a drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug on the side of the case. at a lube shop they hook up lines to the transmission lines and cycle out all the old fluid and replace it completely this is your best bet the whole job includes new fluid, filter, and labor it cost about 80 dollars
