Yes, I've seen a lot of comments on Mitsubishis also. Enough to know I don't want one. Too late to return it? Or determined to keep it?
Check for spark, check fuel pressure. Do you hear the pump turn on for 2 or 3 seconds with key on, not start? Have you tried the resetting with the pump temp sensor again?

2000 mercury grand marquis 4.6 Intermittent problem. 35,000. miles. Problem engine died several times wile driving. Also after car is parked from a drive will not start. Found that the fuel pump is not...

I'd have to test when problem is ongoing. When you first turn on key, no crank, you should hear the pump run for a few seconds then stop. For initial prime, the computer doesn't need rpm signal. Engine cranking, the computer needs to see rpm signal or it won't ground the fuel pump relay. W/o rpm signal, no spark at the plugs and no fuel injector pulse. I know your talking about fuel, but, when problem is ongoing, check spark and fuel injector pulse, engine cranking.
Intermittent problems are a pain, have to test when problem is ongoing.

Not guessing as to what the problem is , testing for voltage drop problems with a volt meter . posted a video on youtube yesterday . If your still looking for guesses forget it , no one on here could say for sure without testing the circuit an hooking up a scan tool to see if PCM is energizing the relay . Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop . Fuel Pump Electrical Circuits Description and Operation If you can't learn how to test from this guy , better take to a repair shop .

My car wont start i drove it to walmart to have my tires replaced drove it back home parked it went to go to the store and it wouldnt start so i tryed getting a battery thinking that could be it but it...

WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY ALL THE WAY ON (NOT TRYING TO START, BUT FOR ACCESSORIES)...DO YOU HEAR THE FUEL PUMP SWITCH ON? YOU HAVE TO LISTEN REALLY GOOD...AND MAKE SURE NOTHING ELSE IS TURNED ON
(RADIO ETC,.)) YOU MAY HAVE TO TURN THE KEY ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES TO HEAR IT!

IF YOU DON'T HEAR THE THE FUEL PUMP WHEN YOU TRUN THE KEY ON, THEN MOST LIKELY THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!

IT'S A SHAME...THAT THINGS GO WRONG ...WHEN YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO DO
IMPROVEMENTS!

HOPE THIS HELPS!

Ran out of gas. vehicle started, ran, drove home,

the fuel pump runs for 5 seconds when you turn key to ON. It runs all the time whie cranking and after engine starts.

Spray some starting fluid into throttle body & see if it starts then. If yes, pump may be bad. Can you hear pump run in fuel tank?

Did they do a fuel pressure pressure test to determine that its fuel pump? And if so what was the p.s.i.?It should be around 55 to 60 p.s.i. a few pounds under 55 p.s.i. Pump needs replaced, Your shop should have chk. this when it was there the first time. Did they by chance chg. the fuel filter, that can hinder it from starting too.

Delay in startup

if the engine turns over but just dont fire up it sounds as if the fuel pump is losing prime ....have the fuel pressure tested...you may need to leave it overnight so the shop can test it first thing...the pump may be going bad
