Passenger side coolant leak 2004 chevy monte carlo

I can't seem to locate a coolant leak on the passenger side of a 2004 monte carlo. It is dripping at the back side of the engine but behind the firewall. I can't find any leaking at the heater hoses or radiator hoses. The block is dry at the thermostate. My wife came home and the coolant light came on just as she arrived home. The radiator is wet at the filler neck which I think is from overheating. The overfow resevior was quite low. I filled the resevior and ran the engine to cool it down. After complete cool down I test drove it about 10 miles. I checked the resevior and it was empty and then I noticed the dripping under the vehicle. Any ideas where it is comming from. Thanks in advance.

In other words the coolant is probably blowing back under the engine from the pump. Is this correct?

Do the plastic fittings generally break or crack and are they a press fit with orings or pipe thread? Thanks for your help. I'm going to try to tackle it tomorrow if the rain holds off.

I'm having the exact same problem with my 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo. I just read a bunch of horror stories about the Dex-Cool engine coolant messing up the intake manifold, and coolant system. I saw the mudlike sludge in the radiator cap. I pray, its not a long lasting problem and expensive fix.

It is most likely coming out of the weep hole at the water pump or the plastic fittings on the water pump to upper intake manifold they are black in color ands are L shaped with O-rings

over time they break down because of the chemicals in the antifreeze the are a press in fitting made from plastic and have O-rings they come in a pair and can be purchased from O'reillys for about 6 dollars

Check passenger floor board for dampness under mat
At heater core fire wall the drip is inside vehicle
Suggest buy a coupler splice heater core hoses and connect together by coupler and hose clamps
Heater core replacement is going to cost a pretty penny they have to pull dash, supports, ac ducts, move wires out the way
The coupler is a buck and some of your labor
If you can get fixed get it fixed before next winter the coupler only bypasses the heater core

Depending on what fuse you are looking for, there is a fuse block located on the inside right passenger kick panel.

Behind the I/P, right of the steering column, above the accelerator pedal

I have a 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo SS. Everytime it rains I get standing water on the passenger side floor. I have changed the cabin air filter and it still is happening. Getting worse with every rain

Hi, very likely you have a leak from the wind shield and these can be proven or disproved by running tap water on the passenger side of the windshield. If the windshield is leaking a technician should be able to reseal the strip around the windshield or replace the windshield if its broken. Thank you for using fixya!

Where do I put Power Steering Fluid in, 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo

it goes in the power steering pump reservoir. Look on the belt side of the engine, ps often rearward on passenger side, obscured from vision by engine parts. Need a flex funnel to add.

Why do you need to add fluid, does it leak?
