Remove the 2 front motor mounts and rock the motor forward by pushing the car forward while in park. make sure you flip the mounts up onto the motor they will be out of the way of smashing the radiator ... once pushed forward lock e brake to hold it there .. that should give you plenty of room to work with

Does a 2007 mini one have power steering ?

Most Minis have an electric power steering pump between the engine and the firewall. The power steering pump is not belt driven and thus hard to find.

I just replaced the springs in my 94 chev silverado and now I have no power steering, fluid boils and over heats really quickly, replaced pump and hoses, is it possible the steering box could have a b

if it was no problem before the spring change then go back to what you did with the suspension as it is possible that you are overloading the pump. Other than that for the oil to heat up and boil there has to be energy going into the oil Pump spinning under pressure with no release of the oil. Oil pumps have no pressure unless the steering valves are up set where they close off and move the steering until you stop moving the wheel . At this point the valves open and release the pressure back to the reservoir

What is the power steering pressure

nil to very low until you turn the steering wheel. At this point the valves close and the pressure can go up to 2000psi until wheel movement stops and then it drops to original reading as the valves close off and allow the pumped oil to by-pass back to the reservoir.

My power steering in my toyota camry 1992 is very hard to turn however it will be hard to turn for a couple days and then all the sudden something happens (dont know what) and it comes back I had it...

Be systematic about this
- you will have checked the fluid level in the separate P/S reservoir
- check the pump drive belt for tightness. Intermittent slipping can cause this symptom
- if your car has cooling fans hydraulically driven by the P/S pump (some Camrys do, some not) the fault may lie in that circuit. Look to see the fans run when hot and when you have no steering assist for a clue
- is there any difference between left and right when hard steering? If so it points to a faulty control valve

- air in the system will cause this intermittent behavior, but you said the air has been purged out? If not, jack up the whole front end, start the engine, and turn the steering wheel fully lock to lock a few times, checking the fluid level meanwhile
- then, it could be the overpressure relief valve in the pump is faulty. This can be replaced without replacing the pump. You will need a pressure gauge to check this, best done by a steering shop
- then, the seals in the steering rack could be worn, but the loss of power steering should not be just intermittent if so.

Location of power steering pump

GM wanted to see how many tatoos they could cause. It's located on the passenger side close to the firewall. There are two heater hoses just above it so be careful if checking the level when hot. Hope this helps.

Where do I put power steering fluid in my 2000 Chevy impala?

The service info should be in your owners manual.
Normally the power steering tank is on the pump or close by.
The pump should be on the passenger side of the engine near the top.

Where is the power steering pump for 2005

I'm going to assume that you have the 3.8L automatic transmission like mine.

The pump is directly underneath the alternator, between the engine head and the firewall. It is somewhat difficult to find, let alone to remove the filler cap and check the oil level on the dipstick.

Viewed from the front of the car looking rearward at the engine, find the serpentine belt on your left. Follow it rearward to the alternator which sets high on the engine about four inches from the firewall. The alternator has a bunch of slots around it's perimeter. The power steering pump is about six inches below it. There are two rubber hoses about one inch in diameter against the firewall going to the pump. The filler cap/dipstick is on top, but is difficult to remove and replace. Be careful to not get dirt in the pump when removing and replacing the cap.
