Ripped off on transmission rebuild

I had a guy rebuild my tranny two years ago. 2 months later car pulled out in front of me and totaled my ride. finally got the cash to get a new body, put the motor in and not two weeks later the tranny lost 3rd altogether. keep in mind i started the motor everyday to keep in warm and in good running condition while it sat. i dont wanna bring it back to him cuz he kept giving me the run around when i had problems after he put it in the first car. but i want my money back! do i have a case in small claims court or something?

How long of a warranty did he give you on it? My guess is that if it's out of warranty you don't have much of a chance, let alone after an accident.

Will the 4x4 shift actuator, if faulty, affect the shifting of the transmission itself?

How much did you pay for the rebuild and who did it? It would help to know what you are working on. The blower motor is probably unrelated. Any chance the rebuild guys will stand behind there work?

1990 Buick Lesabre no reverse.

This sounds like an internal problem .. possibly a broken hub on the clutch pack Standard GM L460 problem..call a couple of trans shops in your area and ask their assessment and price a rebuild.

2000 chrysler cirrus comes up with 7oo code. Tranny won't shift from first gear.

Chrysler/Dodge,transmission computer's lock it into "Limp Mode", when it detects any transmisson problems. It will need scanned at a transmission repair garage Because the scanner diagnostic tool they use looks into transmission functions and errors, much deeper than a all purpose scanner tool. .Possibly an "Input" , "Output" speed sensor" or a bad solinoid pack. ( all 3 are external transmission parts.. These are very common to go bad and much cheaper than a complete, tranny rebuild.. But many rip off, tranny garages tell people that the transmission needs a complete rebuild.($1500. to $1800.) Watch out for this. It is possible that it needs rebuilt, but an honest tranny mechanic will let you know, either way.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 46 RH auto transmission. after the motor / trannie gets warm it starts to slip out of gear 2, 3 , 4, if i let off the accelerator and downshift it will eventually go back into...

Other than removing & cleaning the valve body

ANY SLIPPING EVER in the life of that trans,
will eventually lead to a rebuild

That one went 18 years in my dakota & still
good when I parted with it a year ago

Most rear drive transmissions, last ten years & transaxles
are on their death beds from day one.

Unless you actually back probed the sensors with an oscilloscope
& scan tool data was next to non on OBD 1,it is possible
the sensors were never bad
