Question about 1981 Ford F 100

1 Answer

Engine Trouble Just got my truck back for my mechanic, with re manufactured engine from Jasper. It has run good for a week, then all of a sudden it started running rough, like water in fuel. While in park or neutral it idles fine and revs great, but when I put it in gear the problems begin. I just put ''HEAT'' to dry any water out in the gas and also changed the fuel filter. After doing that now the motor doesn't want to spin over and the battery is good

The starter will no longer turn it over. Battery is good and so is starter. Engine is new remanufactured engine. transmission is old and pump leaks. I am suspecting the problem is in the transmission as the engine would idle fine and rev fine in neutral and park. Now there seems to be resistance coming from somewhere prohibiting it to even crank.

Can you turn it over by hand, or with socket at crank bolt? Are you saying it's seized or something, or starter just won't engage?

My 2006 impala had low oil level so i added a little too much. Now low oil pressure shut off engine light comes on. what is causing this? is it the oil pump?

Not Likely. You need to have an oil pressure test performed. If the pressure is low than running the engine low on oil has caused excessive main and rod bearing clearances. having the engine rebuilt is expensive. Either install a known good, used engine or get a re-manufactured engine w/ a good warranty. The best reman is made by Jasper Engines and Transmissions and come w/ a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty.

I blew the engine. Is it better to scrap the car or have a new engine installed?

Depends,I have a 85 nissan, see my icon, silver 4x4,The engine and carb.went bad,I replaced both and that has been over 3 years ago and it runs better than new.I also replaced transmission,it is pricey,I bought a new remanufacturd engine with 3 year and/or 100,000 mile warranty,The weber carb. was new, transmission was a new remanufactured with a year warranty. Are you wanting to keep car a long time,if so,but check price first.Find a asa certified mechanic to install,I used Jasper Engines, check them out.

Ask the dealer mechanic to replace the camshaft position sensor again. Remind them that just because it's new, doesn't mean it works.

They should also check the wiring from the ECM to the sensor for continuity, to ensure that the ECM is actually seeing a signal and it's not being shorted somewhere.

You can buy rebuilt engines through your local auto parts store or look on-line for companies like Jasper. Also, some mail order auto parts dealers like JC Whitney sell engines.

I am looking for a 5.3 liter jasper motor breakdown of

Jasper engines are rebuilt by that company and are exactly the same as the engine made by the manufacturer. (ford is ford, chevy is chevy etc.) Therefore if you have a chevy engine built by jasper, then it is exactly the same as a chevy unless it was built to other non-factory specs (stroker crank, different compression pistons or performance cam) Without the original "sheet" on this, the only way to tell what's in there is by taking it apart and measuring it.

2000 Toyota Camry LE - engined blown - should I fix?

Hi...
On your coment.
I'm a mechanic...
To decide for a USED engine Or REBUILT engine.
The Difference 1- is the Price
On used How many miles have the USED engine
How was the maintenance on the Engine. ( Never know)
The warranty Used only 30 days.
But is the Cheap option. depend of your money.

JASPER is ONE of the BETTER ENGINE and TRANS. Rebuilder company.
They have 2 warrantys, One 36,000 miles,
The other ONE is 72,000, wrote on papers.
They give to you A complete warranty.
If the ENGINE fail During the Warranty time. they will give to you an other engine, and pay for the Labor to Remove and Install the Second Engine.
If you do with JASPER ASK to the Installer for the Warranty papers if he buyit.

OK. O hope this help on your question.
Thank you for use fixya ...
