no pro, but have been raised around mechanics and usually right on with diagnostics. do you maintain your vehicle regularly? oil changes, trans fluid checked, air cleaner, plugs and wires? something a simple as a dirty air cleaner can cause that. in order to accelerate it needs to breathe. clean airways in a vehicle include the air filter, (for proper flow of fuel) the fuel filter. you could have a pinched fuel line, clogged fuel line, hole in line or maybe a fuel injector going bad. when you are in park or at a red light, does it shake or ****? this could be due to bad spark plugs and/or wires. bad plugs and wires can drasticaly affect performance as well. letting your gas tank get low often can cause your vehicle to **** up debrit or water (these things usually settle at the bottom of your gas tank) you should never let your tank get below half. also, cheap gas prices usually means cheap and diluted fuel=short lifespan on your vehicle

This can be your catalytic converter. If engine has no power, and won't go very fast, and you have your foot to the floor, this is the likely cause. The car may be covered by a Chevy extended warranty for this known defect. The warranty is 10 years 100K miles on that particular part for that failure. Take it to a dealer and they should fix it for free.

Call a Chevy dealership, ask for service department. Tell them about it and ask what you have to do to get the code. Also if it is n9ot a code then they may be able to help you out by giving you some suggestions, other than bringing it in to them.

2005 chevy impala holding high idle

A temp sensor out of range giving a false cold reading can cause high idle . A MAP sensor can also cause high idle by advancing the timing resulting in higher idle .

2003 Chevy Impala w/dual zone heat /AC stopped blowing on speed 5. Worked fine on speeds 1 thru 4 for about 4 weeks then stopped working on all speeds.

Likely the blower motor resistor. located right next to the blower motor, this device is resposible for reducing the voltage suplied to the motor. when it fails you may loose some or all speeds of the motor

My 2004 Chevy Impalas blower won't come on until 5 or 10 min. Show me how to change the blower, Please

It sounds like a loose connection. When it warms up, the heat causes expansion and allows the circuit to be completed. This could be at the resistor pack / speed control. In any case, you might want to read this discussion:

"2003 Chevy Impala won't start". Car would not

The alternator is not charging,or the battery wont take a charge. If all accessories work fine when its running after you've boosted it,its likely the battery.

Tranny not shifting into overdrive properly, try having the filter changed and the tranny flushed this should help.
