1995 Ford Mustang Engine Won't Turn Off

The engine will not turn off on my 1995 Ford Mustang GT. When I turn the key ignition in the off position the car does not turn off. I have replaced the ignition lock but that did not solve the problem. I am now going to try replacing the ignition switch. Any clue?

The new ignition switch did not fix the problem. I can start and turn off the car with the ignition switch but not with the key. Looks like the problem is the shaft where the ignition switch rod goes in to. Any clue what to do next?

Ignition switch actuator is broken. It is the link between the key cylinder and the ignition switch.

From my experience...
A non PATS coded key SHOULD not turn the STARTER...!

If ANTI-THEFT were invoked... you can attain a not start condition which the Owners Manual says must be cleared by the dealer.

A working PATS key should disable the anti theft... by turning the ignition on... ELSE try your other key.

The SecuriLock [PATS]
passive anti-theft system is not compatible with
non-Ford aftermarket remote start systems. Use of these systems may
result in vehicle starting problems and a loss of security protection.

Crank but won't start

You'll have to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition problem.
Is the check engine light on ? Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a relay, the ignition module, coil, fuel pump, or a list of other things.

1995 Mustang GT, car wont turn off, replaced ignition. Help?

when you pulled out the old ignition, your not supposed to move anything, other than clock the new one to have the keys match the old one. any ways sounds like you need to pull the tumbler out, and hold the outer case, while turning the key, then re-insert it in. plain and simple you just dont have it clocked correctly
