Question about 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Jeep is hard to get started and dies when you put it in gear

I have 02 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 v6, we just put an 05 motor in it, but jeep is hard to start and dies when you put it into gear.

    my jeep is a 2002 grand cherokee laredo 4.0 v6, we put a motor into the 02 that came out of an 2005 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 v6, but my jeep is hard to start - and when you do get it started and put it into gear it will die.

First check battery condition, second was the syc set after install?

the first grand cherokee laredo was in 1992 . it was all jeep sports back then, the blocks are all the same .you will need to use some of the sensors from the old motor, the distributor and oil sending unit and temp sensor. will be no problem. if I can put a ford ranger motor in a mercury sable your swap is easier

01 Jeep grand cherokee laredo won't start. No fire is going to engine. Changed spark plugs but didn't help at all


you might want to check you cam shaft sensor amd also there is a different sensor under the distutor i had to replace both of these on my 95 jeep grand cherokee laredo

No, not with out a lot of work. Electronics are most likely different on the 2 also.
