Might be a simple thing or a costly thing so lets hope its simple the tracks and regulater bars ride smooth because of grease if your grease has broken down due to wear and tear dirty moister ect it no long keeps lubercated the heat warms it up and allows the parts to move the cold is stiffening it and well you know id take the panel of and try to roll it down when its cold see if it trys to move if so clean the tracks and parts off apply new lubercation to all tracks and parts see if that works

In a lot of trucks I have found a cut wire where the wires run from the door to the truck body in between the door hinges. Almost all the time its the wires on the driver side, cause there are so many wires pact in their. Its kind of a pane to get in between the door and the body to look at the wires.

The switch itself may be faulty. Have you tested it with an ohmmeter? Have you tested power to the passenger switch with a voltmeter?

Most likely U Joints in the front axles. These will only turn in 4 wheel drive.
