Are these the rear brakes,if so try following the emercency cables you should find one of them binding or stuck, spray the cables with penetrating oil, such as CRC<WD40 or my favorite SEAFOAM, move the cables manually until they start to free up,replace cable in near future

On my 1990 ford f150 i have to press the brake pedal down real far to get my break light to come on it seem to work fine when truck is not running only when i start the truck up

Above the brake pedal arm is a small switch with a rod sticking out toward the brake arm. This is the switch that controlls the brake light. You can loosen the nut and turn the unit to adjust it. It won't take much adjustment to change the action of the switch. It should be so when the brake pedal is depressed 1/2 inch the brake lights are activated.

I'm having an unusual problem with a 1990 Geo Prizm. When I step on the brake the brake light comes on in the rear. When I turn on the lights the brake light goes out if I'm holding the brake pedal down....

Make sure you have the right bulbs in the right place...Sometimes they will fit, even though they are not right...Your brake light bulb should be a two filiment bulb...If it is one , then there goes your problem...Now if your bulbs are interchangable, go ahead an swap them around, and see what happens...Goodluck....

The check engine light comes on and the 1990 f150 runs bad, if it starts at all. New 351w, new map senser. If i disconect the battery for about 10 minites. Then reconect it, it will run good untell i turn...

when you changed your map sensor you should have reset the program, take out the negative terminal of your battery then press brake pedal 10 times slowly. then put back the terminal.
