If, when you turn on the ignition, you do not see the check engine light come on in the dash then your ecu is in need of repair. The ecu has to energize the relays that send power to the fuel pump and injectors. Until that check engine light comes on, no power will be sent to the relays, thus no start. There are a lot of posts on this site about this, called the delayed start check engine light problem.

i have a wire running from the fuel pump to the ignition fuses i bypass the relay so is that why the relay not working because the ECU not energize energize it?

Your clutch is not disengaging. If it a hydrolic clutch chk. the fluid in resavor, Or slave cyl. for the clutch is bad, Or it has got air in it and needs to be bleed. This is a clutch problem, nothing wrong with trans. If its a manual clutch linkage its an ajustment thing. My best guess if its hydrolic slave cyl. went bad, or resavor is out of fluid.

SOURCE: 1991 jeep wrangler clutch

U have what is called a hydraulic clutch, one of the hydraulic cylinders hs failed, there is a master and a slave cylinder. The most likely and most common cylinder to fail is the slave cylinder, this requires the transmission to be pulled out to replace it. the art is around $125.00, while the trans is out u might as well replace the clutch, the labor is about the same. Here is a picture of the part, let me know if u can see it.

SOURCE: 1991 jeep wrangler: alternator overcharging

It sounds as the voltage regulator which is built into the back of the alternator has stuck. Occaisionally this even happens on new ones. Would suggest taking the alternator back as it shoud be under warranty.

SOURCE: my 1991 jeep wrangler fuel pump is not turning on

If you are positive that your fuel pump is not working, then it is time to replace it.

You can find the fuel pump either inside the engine compartment or inside the gas tank, depending on the engine that you have in your wrangler.

Since it is likely that you have the inline 6 cylinder 4.0, the pump is most likely inside the tank.

Go ahead and pull it if you are sure that is the problem and take it to be tested by your local auto parts store.

My 1991 wrangler started overheating - i had the AC on and was stuck in traffic turned the heater on (ac off) and the temp returned to normal - where should i start?

You might check the fan,if it has a thermostatic clutch on it.
It should spin up with the same speed as the engine. And free wheel when the engine is first started. If it looks lazy, and just barely turning, in the heat of being stoped in traffic it may be whats causing the overheating.

1991 jeep wrangler trouble starting and stalling

It could be a fuel filter clogged up or it could be a fuel pump going bad. Does the jeep start back up after it stalls? Is there any more symptoms?
