Question about 2004 Ford F250

1 Answer

Does the turbo need to be removed to access the # 4,5 and 6 injectors? And can the P2285 code which says we need to replace the IPC sensor and pigtail cause the ford dealer to think the injectors were bad. Could there be a connection here because there is also a leak at the sensor? Truck only has 109,000 miles on it and seems strange that injectors (3) would suddenly go bad

If I was you since there is a leak I would change the sensor before I make any other repairs. They are all related to each other. If you lose your high oil pressure you will trip codes for injectors. I would fix the oil leak at the sensor first then go from there. They are probably all related

How do I clear a P2285 code on a 2003 ford f350?

Have you diagnosed that code & replaced the failed
sensor, before you break down somewhere?

Have you not looked up the codes

There is lots about it on the internet

Seems it takes about 3 to 4 hours to get to it

You can use a code reader to clear all data,
then you got nothing to work with, to diagnose
the problem

The MIL Lamp will come back anyway, until you
resolve the problem

Ford diesel trouble code 2285. What is it?

P2285 - Injector Control Pressure Sensor Circuit Low

Open circuit, short to ground, ICP sensor; the ICP sensor is behind the turbo, it has been known to get an internal leak of oil and go need an 1 1/16 crows foot wrench to remove it. Just replace it (also check connectors).

Hope helps to solve it.

Do you know how to fix the code - P2285 (ICP) on a 2003 Ford 350 6.0 diesel truck

DTC P2285 indicates the injector control signal circuit is out of range
so its either the ICP sensor located ontop of the passenger valve cover
or an open or shorted wire between the pcm and icp sensor

Ford f250 2003 super duty diesel 6L - loss of power and idle fluctuates

icp sensor, definitly. you can get to it but you have to go from the bottom. remove the trans filler tube, and lower the the trans slightly, then you can remove the turbo heat shield and get to the sensor, you will need a 1 1/16" 12 point crows foot socket for the sensor its self.
