Question about 1995 Toyota Tercel
I have tried to test all of the internal coil impedance tolerances.
They are all with in norm. I put a full tune up in for good measure.
It almost hits. I know I have fuel. Could the Crankshaft position sensor
be bad? The only pre-situation symptom was a fast idle.
My manual from Haynes kind of stinks a bit and does not give me enough
diagrams and detailed information.
Can anyone please help me? This thing has been down for weeks.
There is a capasistor in the disributer that some times goes, check that, when they goes they look like they melted

First off, make sure all your fuses are good. After that make sure that the camshaft is actually turning. You can remove the distributor cap and have some one crank it over and watch the distributor shaft to see if it is turning.
If this is all good verify that the coil is not just arching back through its self. If there is still no spark, check the littlt condenser that is in the base of the distributor to see if it has melted down. The wire from this condenser is conecte to the (-) side of the coil. When these melt down they short to ground and creat a no spark condition.
Hope this helps.

Having the same problem. check the pick-up coil. Located in the distributor. To address the fast idle. When you get the car started, spray starting fluid around the intake manifold gasket. If it idles even faster, the gasket needs replaced. Fast idle is most normally an air intake leak. An engine knows air. Not where it's coming from. Any leak will cause the computer to match air volume with fuel which will make the engine idle fast
