On hot days my 2003 GMC Sierra 1500HD gets a front end shimmy and the front brakes are overheating as they seem to be applying themselves. Any thoughts?

calipers sticking ,,, brakes shake because the rotors warp from the heat, also check your wheel bearings as they are problematic in these gm trucks ,, price of wheel bearings are way cheaper online rather than any parts store

2004 GMC Sierra, when backing, if I apply the brake it feels like my left wheel shudders. The left front tire is also wearing on the inside. What part is causng this?

Several things could cause it, from bad wheel bearings to worn ball joints...
Get your alignment checked. While they're doing it, a good shop will tell you if anything needs replacing to keep alignment true. Be sure and tell them about the brakes causing a shudder. It may be related, or your brakes might need attention. Good luck.

Shaking when applying brakes

Sounds like the brake rotors are out of round due to warpage. It's a common ailment which can often be resolved by having the rotors turned, IF they have enough material left to do so within limits. Front rotors are often vented and turnable, rears can sometimes be solid and unturnable. Your local brake tech will know. Call around for pricing on your vehicle and to check the answers you get for truthfulness. Some guys will automatically tell you that you need new rotors when you may not.
Hope this helps.

I have a 96 GMC Sierra Z71 and it shakes on and off like your going over multiple speed humps. What can cause this?

It could be several different things. If it does it only when applying the brakes I would say that your brakes rotors and drums need to be turned on a brake lathe. Other things to check are the tires either being out of balance or damaged. You may have a bent or damaged wheel. Check your front CV joints and axles. Check front wheel bearings. Check for slack in your pitman and idler arms. Check the ujoints and carrier bearing on your rear driveline.
