2000 Toyota Corolla Radio/Clock

I just tried pumping air into my tires with an air pump that hooks up to the cigarette lighter-I thought I may have blown a fuse because the radio/clock will not work--replaced the DOME 15 with 15 fuse but the radio/clock still won't work--all I can think of is an electrical shortage---the battery is okay and other electrical systems on go

The car's other electrical units are working properly--I just can't seem to get any power for the clock or radio

  • ForeignCars Apr 18, 2009

I am sure--everything else is running--all the other headlights, brake lights, etc are working--just the radio/clock

what is a shortage? do u mean short or lack of power? pull the radio and check for power to the connector, recheck all the fuses again. if u have an under hood fuse box then check it as well.

Apart from the fuse cutting off you might have had some wires cut off too. Have an expert take a look at it for you.

I experienced this before.

Good luck.

Radio,clock cigarette lighter

lighter will most probably be on its own fuse, which in your case is blown.
radio and clock will probably be on the same fuse, which has blown.
Its important to remember that most radios have their own fuse which is found at the back of the radio.(radio will have to be removed) but try the easy fuse first (in the fuse panel

replace the bulb in the overhead light. the light cover should just pull off (may be a small clip to free it, flathead screwdriver )

Cigrate lighter, radio and foof light does not get on even fuses ar good for toyota corolla 2001

Check these two fuses. Fuse number 31 in fuse box location 4, if cigarette lighter, radio and clock. Else fuse number 5 in fuse box location 2, if only radio and clock and not cigarette lighter.

The entire car is on a 12 volt system...I think what you need is the amperage. Cig lighters should be on a 20 amp (yellow) fuse but not alway...sometimes it's 15. When you locate the blown fuse, it will indicate what amperage it is imprinted on the fuse in white. If it is not marked for whatever reason, there should be a schematic imprinted somewhere near the fuse panel possibly on the back of the cover. If no schematic, it should be in your operator's manual.

You may have a short in the dash, i would have it checked by a mechanic, if it is a short it could cause a fire, so you should have it checked ASAP........

Radio, clock and lighter quit working

This is the interior fuse. The fusebox is on the left side under the dash, in front of the door. The fusebox door has a diagram identifying the fuses. Replacement fuses are available from any discount store or auto parts store. Use the correct amperage fuse.

The radio, lighter and clock are controlled by 2 fuses:
The 15 Amp CIG and the 15 amp DOME, under the dash, driver side, for a USA car.
