Question about 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD

No rear brake lights on 2006 silverado

Over cab brake light works fine. bulbs and fuses are good.

    shack is wrong... switch is working if brake light is coming on above cab. all fuses are good as well as bulbs?

Brakelight switch above brake pedal. sounds like the prob.at this point.

did you check the bulbs?
other than that, retrace the wires and it must be grounding out, check for 12volt inside bulb connector

check all your wiring from the light to the fuse panal. that should fix it

2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD tail lights stopped working


I am having the same problem on an 04 2500hd there isa 15 amp stop light fuse inside the cab on the side of the instrument panel and a 25 amp stop light fuse under hood. you could also have a break switch issue the switch is located up on the break pedal linkage you should have power on the white wire when you push the pedal in (check with a test light) in my case I have a broken wire along the frame rail in the harness it is a light blue wire,

Rear brake lights


they are seperate fuses and also has trailer light relay for tow package models , look for trailer light relay fuse , with key on check them all while your there , if fuse is good , swap with another relay , if that will not work , check bulb housing for melted terminals , lastly have body control module ckecked
