Positive cable (usually red) goes to post marked(+) on battery. Negative cable, usually black that connects directly to engine block, goes to (-) terminal on battery. Replace any brackets you removed and you are finished.

2000 Cadillac Catera, I can not get it to run unless I take the boots off the throttle body and hold my hands over the ports on the throttle body what would cause this

check for missing screws in the ports that you are blocking off as by putting the hands over the ports you are cutting off the air leak into the body .

Car: 2000 Cadillac Catera Radio: Bose Info: Power goes off to radio, fuel door and trunk release. Seems to happen randomly. Any thoughts?

K134 Multifunction relay is on the driver side, inside the dash above the driver's left ankle (area). (2) panels need to be removed below the steering column to access this area. The first is a panel that matches your dash. The second is a cardboard panel with foam padding on it that encompasses the arms holding the brake pedal and accelerator. You'll then need to lay on your back on the floor board, head in first. Look for a gray box about 3" square by 1 1/2" thick. Push it 'up' off of it's mounting bracket to release. Unplug the wiring harness. Plug in new relay and re-mount.

My 2000 Catera drains the battery overnight and requires charging to start the next day. What is going on?

I had the same problem, it ended up being that the Body Control Module was water damaged due to a leak in the drainage hoses from the sunroof.

My cadillac catera had water in the floor after storm after water subside drove to work came out from work did not start initially battery was working all the lights came on just clicking and nothing come...

Likely two separate issues...check battery for good clean connections (at battery and engine). Water leak likely from windshield seal or something of that nature. Make sure battery has a full charge...operating dash or other lights does not require much voltage compared to starter.

I replaced 2 alternators in my 2000 catera...only when it rains does the car not start..the battery is dead as a door nail...can someone help?

Make sure the car is not draining the battery while parked and shut off.
Place a meter across the battery, it should read 12 volts when charged up.
Start the car and it should climb to and read 14 to 14.5 volts. If it doesn't, then the alternator is bad.

2000 catera radio stopped working

HAD the same problem and it turned out to be the battery even though all system (i.e. charging, alternator, etc.) were good. Noticed the voltage meter would dip while driving then show a charge when first starting. Bottom line is battery was not holding the proper charge whiel running due to a short in the battery. New battery seems to have taken care of the problem... oh make sure the terminals are really clean.
