Ck engine lite on smells like plastic burning

not the Japan Hydrogen version right, it burns Petrol (gasoline)

1.3 L RENESIS (Wankel rotary) smoke from where, engine actual or tail pipe or where.
where matters !@ big time.
well, it needs service, clear as day,
we can't really guess, all problems with ,Wankel spark or fueling
but guess bad fuel. or leaking fuel or worse bad engine,
apex seals?
smog is black or white, if white is smoke smells like burning oil
slow to dissipated, or fast like steam as in Antifreeze nasty sweet smell in the air, ????
be more clear no smoke. where and smell and color
or smells like burning wire.?plastic insulation burning/
that is it from bland man.....
finding shop that can do Wankel's, (OUCH)

Yes needs to be fixed soon but should not affect inspection depending on the state however it will affect the performance of engine

Does the smell happen while the car is moving, or will it do it parked ?
Is it coming thru the vents ? Can you tell if its from the engine compartment ?

Burnt smell after starting 2013 Chevrolet Equinox. Turned key starter turned over slowly then started drove car however strong electrical burning smell after starting pulled over seen smoke coming from under vehicle. Car wouldn't start even with a jump starter just clicking sound then nothing while horrible smell of burnt electrical from under the hood. Towed it home it just clicked once. Lights, horn, flashers dash and power locks all working fine never had any problems. Thoughts starter or ??

I'd first check for wiring/fuses - make sure all electrics work. If I'm not mistaken, car has a cabin filter that might need changing. I don't think vent/leave is the issue.

check your engine belts. if they are intact, check the air conditioner compressor. the bearings may be worn out. which makes the compressor seize. the belt would continue to move over the compressor unit, and cause the burning smell. a jump start should start the car.

TRansmission went on the car you may have to buy a new transmission

If you had to add oil, more then likely there an oil leak could be a gasket or oil seal, where ever the leak is at it's falling on the exhaust manifold and burning the oil, that's what you smell. Have it check cause low oil will damage you engine.
