Question about 2002 Toyota Tacoma

1 Answer

ECT button? I don't have a problem but a question instead. I purchased a used 2002 Toyota Tacoma and it didn't have an owners manuel. Theres a button on my dash that says ECT. Is it a torque converter? Above the button it says "pwr" and under it is "norm".

Where exactly do i place the jack to change rear tire on my 2001 tacoma 4x4

Google "Toyota Tacoma manual"
Go to toyota's website and look for downloads or manuals. They'll ask you to sign in, but you might be able to skip that and just fill in the box for the model and year. You will get to a page with a lot of PDF files of Owners Manuals. Pick the one for your truck and download it.

I recently purchased a 2002 toyota tacoma 3.4 V6 4X4. 98K on it. when idleing and driving it misses heavily, when you let off the gas its smooth. any suggestions? Thanks

I would start with a tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air flter, fuel filter. any of these that you have on your vehicle. Also check or have checked the fuel pressure.

Replace rear gear oil

This is a easy job and will take about an hour once you have all the parts. First of all look in your owners manuel to see what grade lube you need and how many quarts. Go to your local auto parts store and purchase the lube and a gasket for the Tacoma. Put the vehicle in park and remove the bolts on the back pan. Place a pan under the rear end and remove the bottom of the pan with a screwdriver carefully. The fluid will come out slowly. Once it has been completely drained remove the cover completly. Scrap all the old gasket material and replace the new one. Put the cover on and torch per specifications. Fill it up and your done.
