There is usually no diagram for the power steering on a vehicle. On power steering you have a pressure line and a low pressure return line. The pump is located on the front of the engine and has a line that is bolted into it, this is the pressure line coming out going to the steering gearbox where it is bolted in also. The other line has a clamp holding it in place, this is the low pressure return line coming back from the gearbox. If the gearbox is the rack and pinion steering type then you may have a couple of extra high pressure lines on it to operate the rack portion of the steering. Good Luck, RAC

CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR IS LOCATED NEAR THE POWER STEERING PUMP. IT HAS BROWN AND WHITES WIRE.BUT YOUR BEST BET IS TO BUY A HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL.IT WILL SHOW AND TELL YOU HOW TO REMOVE IT.

Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
Pressure Hose
Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (3.8L)
Removal Procedure
1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
5. The power steering pressure hose is the lower hose at the power steering gear.
Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear.
6. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
7. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the clamps on the power steering gear.
8. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering pressure hose to the vehicle.
2. Install the power steering pressure hose to the clamps on the power steering gear.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
^ Tighten the fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear.
^ Tighten the pressure hose fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Install the accessory drive belt.
9. Fill the power steering system with power steering fluid.
10. Bleed the power steering system.
11. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.

Have a 2001 monte carlo where to put steering fluid

if this car has the 3800 or 3.8 ltr its on the passenger side towards the fire wall,the fill sits low in the back ,behind the engine,you might need a transmission funnel so you dont spill the p/s fluid all over the back of the engine,hope this helps

Remove the power steering pump pulley on a 2003 monte carlo

you can either remove the steering pump to gain access,if there is no holes in PS pump pulley,you can rent a pulley puller....can be a ***** to get in and use them though....I will drill a hole in it for next time whenever I replace a pump on cars without ....

there should be holes in power steering pump pulley that when positioned correctly the bole should go through one of those holes, if not then you have to remove the pump

Lost power steering on 2001 Monte Carlo SS

I don't know how much this will help but some common problems with loosing power steering is that your power steering pump is gone.your pump is about a foot below the alternator on the side of the firewall - hard to get to it under the hood without removing some items, I got some prices for you and a new pump couls cost anyware from $18 to $70. also the belt could have loosened up just enough that your power steering wont work. hope this helped.
