Brake lights and rear turn signals dont work in my 2008 dodge charger

If both the brake lights and rear turn signals are not functioning in your 2008 Dodge Charger, there are several possible causes to consider. Here are some common issues that could lead to this problem:
1. Blown fuses: Check the fuse box for any blown fuses related to the brake lights and turn signals. A blown fuse can interrupt the circuit and prevent the lights from working. Refer to your vehicle's manual to locate the specific fuse for these functions and replace it if necessary.
2. Faulty bulbs: Inspect the bulbs in the brake lights and turn signals to see if they are burnt out or damaged. If a bulb is not working, it should be replaced. It's possible that multiple bulbs have failed simultaneously, leading to both the brake lights and turn signals not functioning.
3. Wiring issues: Check the wiring connections and harnesses for any signs of damage, loose connections, or corrosion. Faulty wiring can disrupt the electrical flow and prevent the lights from operating. Repair or replace any damaged wiring as needed.
4. Malfunctioning brake light switch: The brake light switch, located near the brake pedal, activates the brake lights when the pedal is pressed. If the switch is faulty or misaligned, it can cause the brake lights to not work. Consider having the brake light switch inspected and replaced if necessary.
5. Faulty turn signal relay: The turn signal relay controls the flashing of the turn signals. If the relay is defective, it can prevent the rear turn signals from operating. Consider replacing the turn signal relay if other potential causes have been ruled out.
If troubleshooting these common issues does not resolve the problem, it is recommended to consult a professional mechanic or authorized Dodge service center for a more accurate diagnosis and repair. They will have the expertise and necessary tools to pinpoint and fix the specific issue with your 2008 Dodge Charger's brake lights and rear turn signals.

Why would my 93 F-Series break lights not work, but the turn signals do?

First check brake bulbs. If they are okay check fuses, the fuses are probably on a different circuit to your indicators. If the fuses are okay then next check that the brake light switch is functional, it is attached to the top mounting point if the brake pedal probably. The fault is almost certainly one of these, there is not much else to go wrong

2008 Ford Escape Brake Lights don't work and back turn signals

Sounds as if the bulbs are bad, but could also be a failed multi-purpose switch.

2003 Silhoutte, both lower brakes lights do not work. Bulbs or turn signal switch? Turn signals work okay. Cyclops works okay, fuses look good.

Bulbs are bad, most bulbs burn out around the same time withing a day or two and both of your brake lights may have gone bad. Try with the simple and inspect the bulb and replace if you see any discoloration to the glass on the bulb. Good luck and than you for using Fixya.

No brake lights, turn signals, or 4-ways.

Did you actually check the bulbs? I believe your brake lights, signal lights, hazards all use the same bulb for each side.

Your brake lights may be your brake switch just above your brake pedal.
The signals could be your electronic flasher module (EFM) located under the dash near the steering column.
Your hazards may be affected by the EFM, but not likely and the switch for your hazards may be faulty

Bottom brake lights and hazard lights do not come on. All other lights work including top brake lights. Fuses and bulbs checked.

Check for power out of brake light switch by brake pedal. Of its faulty , the 3rd brake light will still work. Hope this helps

Brake lights out; bulb, fuse okay

Sounds like you need to replace your brake light switch.  It is located on your brake pedal and you should be able to pick it up for around $20-$30 at your local parts store.

Brake lights do not work, all other lights work.

It is a common chevy problem for the circuit board that holds to bulb to fail, are your running lights and signals still working back there as well? If not then you need to replace the boards.
