Clutch stays down. Slowly will take of with clutch fully pressed. Does not slip.dont understand

It sounds as though the clutch pressure plate has become weak.

When you press the clutch pedal the release/throwout bearing presses against the centre of the clutch pressure plate. This causes the metal 'fingers' -the springs- on the pressure plate to flex and release pressure on the driven plate - momentarily disconnecting the drive from engine to gearbox.

The link below is of generic clutch images
how clutch works Google Search

A weak pressure plate isn't fully releasing the driven plate. If you're going to do any replacing of parts - a clutch should be replaced in 3 units: Pressure plate, driven plate and release/throwout bearing.

Ajust the clutch on a nissannote n_tec 1.4 09 can't see any ajuster

most modern cars do not have an ability to adjust the clutch rod in the slave cylinder
if it is slipping then it most likely be a blocked compensating port on the clutch master cylinder holding the pressure plate off
If it is going too far down or only coming up a bit to engage then there is probably air in the system that needs to be led out.
before you waste money pulling the box to replace the clutch ,have it diagnosed at an accredited clutch specialist shop

We have diagnosed my golf4 its saying gear monitoring what could be the problem

slipping or not actuating the final clutch pack (usually the highest gear clutch pack is at the rear of the trans) look for a torn o-ring on the piston which actuates it. just replacing clutches is not the whole job.

My rev counter goes very high but i don't get any speed

It sounds like you have a slipping clutch, and any mechanic should be able to diagnose upon test drive. if there is low brake fluid then it could be a fault with the hydrolics of the clutch system, either clutch master cylinder or concentric slave cylinder.

hope this helps

Tranmission slipping

too much fluid is like not enough however it would have to be over filled by a lot to have the slipping effect, i suggest a fluid and filter change transmission problems can be diagnosed by what materials appear in your panlots of clutch material would point to burnt clutches in my many years of rebuilding transmissions slipping symtoms usually indicate an overhaul is iminent. good luck

Clutch Sometimes Slipping in 4th and 5th gears!

Hi Jackiaria

Unfortunately you have a hydraulic clutch, which is self adjusting on your car.

The problem you are experiencing is the excessive wear to your clutch, or oil contamination on the clutch plate.

Both these problems can only be fully diagnosed once the gearbox is removed and the clutch is inspected.
There is also a possibility of excessive wear, or scoring, on the flywheel surface, the longer you drive the vehicle with a slipping clutch, possibly requiring the flywheel to be skimmed.

Shop around for a best price, and a trustworthy garage !

Good Luck !

A FixYa rating would be Nice....Thanks.....John.
